Valencia Renay Williams is a single mother dedicated to helping hurting people boost their self-esteem, bringing them closer to actualizing dreams. Almost anyone would be inspired once they get wind of her own personal struggles and victorious triumphs.Ms. Williams who is a Michigan native, has received special recognition from notable organizations for her outstanding community outreach work, which entails making public speaking appearances and conducting seminars, sending the message of HIV/ AIDS awareness. Her focus is to increase prevention (safe sex) and limit the fear of Aids testing among the youth of the inner city communities.Having acquired much of her mother's artistic creative ability, Valencia began to write novels while incarcerated doing a 4 year prison term. It was then in the midst of confinement that she looked within and demanded a change of course for herself. The result of her desire to lead a productive life, coupled with her unique talents is seen in her first novel, The Hottest Summer Ever Known. Since the release of her book in September 2004, Valencia has been featured on Fox TV2 News and Inside Edition, as well as on local radio stations and Essence and Sister2Sister Magazine. The book currently has a 5 star rating on amazon.com.The depiction of life portrayed in The Hottest Summer Ever Know is very appealing and has made the book a favorite among the African American “salons†as well as it has gained notoriety for bridging the gap irregardless of age, race, or social class. This is evidenced at her many book signings and appearances at book club meetings and local happening events in the Detroit Metropolitan areas.Valencia R. Williams is also an accomplished singer, however; her greatest accomplishment is being a mother and positive image to her children Beonka and SamQuavis.
