About Me

Retired Belgian international. I, Phillipe Albert, was bought from Anderlecht by Kevin Keegan in the days of building a championship winning team. A little interesting background on myself, I used to be a striker back in his native league and it is little wonder that when I score, it is usually a pretty spectacular one. Geordies will always remember my goal that completed the thrashing of Manchester United. The lob was just sailing over Rudolph who was just standing there and watching it enter. I'm was often criticised for my ventures up front and thus neglecting my original duty at the back but 2000-01 season I had held back well. The start of this season saw me relegated to the bench and when that meen Dalglish started selling King Kev's signings, I thought that my future was over for this wonderful club. However, a change of luck came for me in the closing of the season. Injuries to Stevey boy and Dazza Peacock's contract dispute saw me regain his first team spot. I defender never took it for granted and played my heart out. My understanding with new boy Nikos saw a tough defence wall that was unseen in Kevin's day and the belief that things can only get better for the club... width="425" height="350" ..
