Soul Slave

About Me

Soul Slave was formed with three unique ideas and styles in mind. The ensuing chaos of sound from its three members is an intriguing blend of Thrash, Hardcore, 80's, and plain old school metal. Soul Slave concentrates on developing hard, fast and emotional music; music that you can not only bang your head and mosh to but music that you can feel deep in your bowels. Lyrical interest draw on life experiences of the band members, ranging from dealing with loss, coping with abuse, to the deep, personal ideals that we all hold to, but can't seem to convey. Soul Slave's live performances are loud, emotional and empowering, not only for it's members, but for the fans who can feel the metal spike being driven deep into their souls.- - - - - In the Fall of 2003, they recorded four tracks for the anticipated demo, "Unleash the Silence." With the help of Roland Cochran at the band co-op in Austin, they were able to capture their raw and unabashed emotion onto audio form. The songs included were the title track, "In Time," "Closure," and audience favorite, "Lifes Unending Change." The demo was quickly snatched up at live shows, with fans taking with them, a piece of "Soul." The songs accentuated four ingredients of their sound: heavy, fast, dark, and simple.- - - - - Soon after, the band was entered into the 2004-2005 Central Texas LULAC Battle-Of-The-Bands and walked away with TWO very impressive awards! They placed first in the * BEST MUSICALITY * award and then went on to receive the * BEST OVERALL * honors! ! Both achievements were due to their dedication and loyalty to their music and to their fans! !- - - - - The members aspire to help bring back the significance of good, strong music. Music that can be felt and understood. Based in Central Texas, Soul Slave looks to expand beyond the borders and boundaries of their native soils to slowly engulf the music world.
