My family tree traces back 1200 years to cannibals in the Scottish Highlands and along the way I've had some famous ancestors. I live in Illinois near St. Louis but grew up in Arlington and Lexington just west of Boston, and Teaticket on Cape Cod. I love my Boston teams, win or lose. In 1976 I joined the Navy, did 20 and went into the Fleet Reserve in 1996. Of all the things I did in the military, being stationed on the USS BUNKER HILL, launching cruise missiles during DESERT STORM, and going to TOPGUN are what I'll remember most. Rolling down a two story marble staircase in Hong Kong and going thru a car windshield on Guam are still painfully vivid. While in the service I lived in San Diego, Pearl Harbor, and Yokosuka, Japan. Stateside, I've been coast to coast, north to south. I've been all around Japan and have visited Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Korea, Iran, Phillipines, Guam, Malaysia, Kenya, Indonesia, Australia, Mauritius, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Pakistan, Midway Island, Wake Island, Okinawa, Diego Garcia, Mexico and Canada. I've been through earthquakes, hurricanes, typhoons, cyclones, a volcanic eruption, a tornado, Watts, and East St. Louis. Of all the cities I've been to overseas, Hong Kong was my favorite, then Sydney, Tokyo, Bangkok and Singapore. Stateside it's Boston, San Francisco, Chicago and Las Vegas. My least favorite place is "ANYWHERE" in the Persian Gulf, the Persian Gulf/Middle East "SUCKS THE BIG ONE" and all land over there needs to be turned into an extra large parking lot.
