Shawn Pocket Evans. Producer, Musician, Writer and Composer. Shawn is a native of Oakland, California where he first discovered his passion for music through playing drums. In his quest to expand his knowledge, Pocket was introduced to the world of Music Production by Carl Wheeler and Timothy Christian of Tony Toni Tone. In the Mid 90s, Pocket was signed as a Staff Producer to Innerscope Records. He has had the honor of working with producers and artists such as Juanita Wynn, Derrick DOA Allen, Cornell West and Dawn Silva from Original Bride of Funkenstein. Currently, Pocket" is the founder and President of "Pocket" Phunk Productions. "Pocket" will be introducing his first solo gospel project in the summer of 2005 entitled, Contemporary Praise. Shawn Pocket is an anointed vessel of God and recognizes that all he has is a gift from God. In an effort to share that gift, Pocket has partnered up with "The Gift Will Make Room" a not-for-profit organization established by Elder Alphonso Flowers, which aims to provide a positive and effective outreach in an effort to strenghthen self, family and community. When not ministering to the community through song, "Pocket" serves as a Staff Musician at the New Testament Baptist Church in Sacramento, California. "Pockets" music is intended to reach the city of the souls through the truth (gospel) of Jesus Christ. Its contemporary, yet urban flair has the ability to reach a variety of souls both saved and unsaved.
