I've been called many things over the years - some nice, some not so nice. But when you get to my age in life you really can look back on it all and crack a wry smile. More than anything I've found peace and soltitude back home here in my home town of Norwich. OK, I may not have a house the size of Mike Oldfield, or (heaven forbid), Lady Coleman. And I may only be driving a brand new Lexus ES and not a Lexus RX..... but you know what? I'm a happy man. I look in the mirror and I say 'Alan..... you are a happy man'. I've lived the bright lights and showbiz pizzazz of London. I've scaled the heady heights of Wood Lane.... and you know what? I didn't like it one bit. My favourite bit of London surely has to be platform 9 of Liverpool Street station. Even if I'm playing Monopoly that's the property I automatically try and purchase the first. But I digress. So these days you are more likely to find me enjoying a quiet walk along the Ouse than you are seeing me rushing for a public appearance. I'm at peace, for I have lived my life to no one else's rules. I can look in the mirror and say, 'I am truly Alan Partridge'. Oh... and 'I am a happy man'.
