Six years ago, 700km west of Adelaide Three brothers and one second cousin twice removed holed up in an abandoned rat infested cottage and started channeling a mood and energy that has been deathly silent in modern rock for years. Having the mind numbing luxury of being a ninety minute drive from civilization in any given direction, the band remained uncorrupted by what the world was calling rock in 2000’s. Instead they looked back and drew inspiration from the musically and visually flamboyant bands of the 70’s 80’s. Years went by as the boys patched together a pastiche of grunge, psychedelic rock and an indefinable wall of pure, hard sound, something that had been lost in the op-shop hipster rock infiltrating the scene miles off in the distance around them.
Five years later Amundsens Flag exploded into the Adelaide night, with a history of booking shows in small country towns dotted around the state, within months they were filling some of Adelaide best rock venues and forging the name of one of SA’s hottest acts. Having worn down the stages in their home state, the band toured independently around Australia shocking unsuspecting audiences with their live shows
