About Me

I'm just and oid chunk of coal, just an ordinary man, striving to be the best perosn I can be as I go through this world of sin. I have a strong faith in God, and I pray for his strength to keep me centered. I can't do it on my own, because Satan stays right on my heels whispering temptations in my ear! SOS!

My Interests

Playing music, shooting pool, playing golf, writing poetry, taking long walks. I love going to my Bible study class every Sunday morning and learning about the scriptures verse by verse from Genesis through Revalations. I love bass fishing, photography, trains and good conversation. Listening to Danny Gatton Cd's and tapes, Buddy Emmons, Billy Cooper, Buddy Charleton Cd,s. Listening to those 4 greats are far better than listening to the radio or watching T.V.

I'd like to meet:

I would like to meet as many wonderful people as possible. I feel that people are a lot like the lyrics and music in songs. I want to meet people that touch my heart and soul just like the great songs I've listened to. I choose to avoid the bad songs, and there are a lot of those. I like the harmony of good friendships as well as the harmony in good songs, and if along the way I meet that special lady I would be thrilled, if not that will be fine also. I know first hand what it's like to be with the wrong person, so I would rather be alone than to be with someone who makes me miserable rather than happy. I'm looking for beauty on the inside. The shell that carries that beauty is not what I care about. Nearly all of the women I have had who had the outer beauty were very shallow and self centered and certinly not faithful or honest they all eventually broke my heart. I know a few beautiful ladies that are the rare exceptions to that statement but they are very rare. I also realize that what most people say about themselves and what they are looking for is a lot of smoke and mirrors! I have stated the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth on this My Space. So if it seems boring or pale to some then I believe honesty evads them and they would be a waste of my time and effort to try to get to know. If this profile looks sincere and honest to you then it would most likely be enjoyable to be contacted by you. Who knows where it may lead. The sky is the limit.

Music:

I like Country, Blues, Rock, Jazz, R&B, Rock & Roll, Classic Rock, Classical, Gospel, Blue Grass, Pop, Top 40, The Big Bands, Danny Gatton a wonderful person and the greatest guitar player ever. I have all his albums. I dislike any music with hate messages and vulgar language! I also love the old Hyms that were Bibicly correct in verse and message. Allow me to qualify the Country Music I like. I dislike most of the new plastic, no soul, no feel, loud noisy rock sounding Country Music. I like Rock Music, but not when it sneaks into Country Music wearing a mask, like a thief in the night! When you listen to Country now most of it is Rock. It is a cancer that is destroying Country Music and it atacts the three most important organs of Country, those being the soul, the feel, and the heart of Country and it has proven to be very fatal! I thank God for some of the Country Artists that stay true to the roots of Country Music. Steel Guitar is becoming a rare sound in the new Country Music, and that is absurd and really it's totaly unforgiveable. The Nashville sound of today is being controled via New York or L.A. By tycoons in sky scraper buildings who sit in fancy big plush offices reading the stock market in the New York Times. They wouldn't know a basic minor chord from a basic major chord. They think the Nashville number system is used for handicaping horses. Most of the new country artists look alike and sound alike. It is hard to tell one from another, and singing ability is not required. The lyrics sound like they are pulled from a 4 man game of Scrable. For instance save a horse and ride a cowboy, or my baby thinks my tractor's sexy. Please give me a break! Are they smarter than a first grader? I used to know who was singing a song when I heard the first word. The musicians then knew that 10 was not the proper setting on an amplifier. Now days most pickers are trying to find 12 on the volume control! Good tone and dynamics have become a thing of the past. If people don't like Country Music, then they should quit listening to it, but please don't change it to Rock and try to tell me it's Country. The radio stations push this new stuff in our ears just exactly like the powers that be pay them to do. Then they have the nerve to give these paid for and owned radio program directors, (Country Music Awards) for playing this Non-Country Music. Excuse me, but don't you think there may be a fox in the hen house? We need to tune in on XM stations that play the real Country Music and not this mass produced, masked, and weak plastic crap that is about as solid as boiling water! Forgive me for this next strong statement. What I am saying is please don't pour urine on my back and tell me that it's raining! Now when I watch the CMA Award shows I feel for the most part, as if I am watching the death and funeral of good Country Music. Most of it does not look like or sound like Country Music!

Movies:

The Ten Commandments and Ben Hur are two of my favorites. I like Drama and Action films as well as Romance and Love films. I loved Pay it Forward, Hearts in Atlantis and Amazing Grace. Danny Gatton videos he was amazing, he was the greatest guitar player ever! Since his death the music world will never be the same. We lost a National Treasure. His influence and music will live forever.

Television:

I think Television is for the most part a waste of time. There are very few times there is anything worthwhile on Television. If you want to see good Television programs your need to go back in time to when Television was in it's infantcy. Just like our society Television has kept on deteriorating as time goes on. Besides, Television is a calorie bank that puts it's growth in the backsides of it's viewers. So why not put away that bag of chips and that beer and go cut the grass, or play outside with the kids. After a period of time your new clothes will be much smaller in size than your old clothes. Imagine that!

Books:

The Bible (Good News)! J. Vernon Mc Gee his five volume set (Through the Bible). All the books written by him are very good reading and teaching aids for Bible study. He was the best pastor I ever heard bar none. He has passed on, and is missed, he touched so many people and led so many folks to Christ in his life time. Some radio stations still broadcast his teachings and sermons.

Heroes:

My heroes are my two sons, Brett who is in Heaven now and Bart who has made his home in Hendersonville Tn. He is my heart and soul. He kept me together when we lost Brett. Brett was 17 and Bart was 12 at that time. Without Bart I would have never made it through that period of sorrow and grief. It is still so hard to deal with! I am very proud of Bart. I Love him unconditionally. My Mother is one of my heroes she is in heaven. She had a very rough life and never lost her faith in God. She was a wonderful Mother and Grandmother. She always put herself last. Danny Gatton for his positive influence and time he spent with my son's. Buddy and Kay Lee Charleton for the wonderful things they do to help injured wildlife and their influence on my son's. Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour is my Hero. God our Heavenly Father is my hero. Our fighting men and women in the military are all heroes. My Godson Nathan Frazier who is in Iraq now on his second tour of duty there, he is a hero also. My friends Billy and Wanda Cooper, who brought me back to Christ, after a long and painful ride on the backsliding board a ride a lot of Christians take at times, but believe me, the ride seems smooth in the begining, but it turns to sandpaper and kerosine just when your going full speed and there are no brakes or lotion to ease the torture. I pray that I'll never take that horrible awful ride again! Remember God is watching 24/7!
