I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I want to be surrounded by good friends. That's why I'm here. That being said, I may still have long way to go. Work is taking up a lot of time. My excess shyness doesn't help either. But I'm learning to be more sociable.
I'm originally from Taiwan. I came to the States in 1994.
In the "company" section of my profile I listed two jobs I have had. They are in totally different industries. I guess life is unpredictable, and one needs to go where there are opportunities. This is particularly true for an immigrant like me. My first job was actually a music teacher. I don't regret having to have several "skill sets," but am trying to find an opportunity to utilize my linguistic knowledge more.
When you get a chance, please visit Cashback Planet , a site I created for Lion Certified Collection Center -- a 501(c)(3) charitable orgainization my partner founded. Thanks!
OK, enough about me. Add me to your friend list so I can get to know you!

My Interests

Music (both making it and listening to it. I sing. I also play piano and flute), country-western dancing, square dancing, travel, movies, outdoor.
Bears

I'd like to meet:

Kind and non-judgmental people.
I do admit that there's should be something through which we can connect, in order for our friendship to grow. That could be talents (if you're a musician too, bravo to that!), our background (if you're Asian then we could gossip about cultures), and/or just admiration for each other. I also have to say those pictures of mine are at least one year old though.
As mentioned in my basic stats, I'm in a relationship -- happily. So I'd like to meet friends who are couples, or singles who don't mind me being in a relationship and won't badmouth about my partner. Thanks!

Music:

Genre: Classical, jazz, folk, country, new age, and anything in between. Composers and artists: Debussy, Chopin, Durufle, Faure, Norah Jones, Alison Krauss, Michael Buble, Jewel, Andrea Bocelli, .

Movies:

Wallace and Gromit.

Television:

My partner likes sci-fi shows, so I watch Sci-fi channel with him quite often. This new show Eureka is pretty interesting. I like the comedy touch. The lead actor is handsome and that certainly won't hurt. I like PBS, particularly science programs (the real kind of science) like Nova.

Books:

Lord of the Rings.

In The Balance of Nature and Technology

A Note From The Author I just had a great idea for myself: I can use this blog feature to research my biggest question in life .  This question is so big, I may need to re-write it many times to ...
