About Me

(Comments now hidden. In some cases, playful comments create "negative stories" in the mind of some on-lookers who may not know either of us. That is unfortunate and for now, I've decided this is the best way to handle it. Send all the comments you want! They were meant for ME anyway RIGHT?!? Peace~)My Bio - Troy Leger has been a broadcaster since middle of his junior year of high school. His radio career was an off-shoot of a great deal of public speaking he did while in high school. He started as as weekend board operator, moving quickly over a 6 month period during high school to become the full-time evening voice of his home town radio station for the remainder of his high school career. After high school, his move to ULL for college caused an eventual moved into Lafayette radio where he eventually went on to fill positions for Foxy 106, the original Urban FM in Lafayette where he worked with Program Director Larry LeBlanc, soon to be the renowned Condon and LEBLANC of the Tiger. His work as a dorm counselor while at ULL led to his introduction to a guy we now know as Fast Eddie. Fast asked about getting a job in radio. Troy introduced him to Larry LeBlanc and the rest is history. Fast eventually got to KSMB ahead of Troy as a midnight to six guy, and helped Troy Leger get on at KSMB as he was departing the position a couple of years later. It was Fast’s way of returning the favor. The years that followed have seen Troy Leger on the air at KSMB on and off over the past decade. While previously engaged at KTYD/KPEL as a news director, KLFY TV-10 as a news producer for the 5 o’clock news cast, full time manager of Silver Bullet productions for nearly a decade, DJ at Scandal’s in Lafayette and now at Ray Banz inside of Graham Central station for over 6 years. He also ran his own talent booking company for a few years under the heading of Dance Music Management, working primarily as the contract and booking manager for The Andy Smith Band. Troy Leger has spent most of his career entertaining and informing the residents of S.W. Louisiana in one way or another.Things you wouldn’t know if he didn’t tell you-He’s a VERY private person. He’s a Christian before anything and everything else.Between his two jobs and projects at home, he’s working 70-80 hours a week Monday through Saturday. No matter WHAT you hear him say on the radio, he’s a terribly conservative fellow. Sometimes ‘playing the role of a CHR radio host’ means saying things to connect with listeners. “Much of that on some days has nothing to do with what I believe or who I am as a person in the real world.”While he may have thousands of acquaintances in a year, he claims to have only a hand full of friends. He won’t shake the hand of a man he does not trust. “As a celebrity of sorts, people watch what we do. I have had men shake my hand, then turn around and tell a woman he’s my friend. Women who know me and my Christian ethic figure if I’m friends with the guy, they can trust him too. I’ve seen a man use one hand shake with me to terribly mis-lead a woman who finds out only too late that I am not the guy’s friend. I’d just as soon not shake the guy’s hand and tell him why if he asks.”People who will tell you they know him actually don’t know anything at all about him. They’re just making it up based on their public perception of him, which is terribly mis-leading once you meet the guy behind it. He has to trust you and know you well before you really get to know anything more than his name.Where women are concerned in his professional and personal life; He says if she’s ever been a customer in his night club, he would not consider dating the woman. “Every woman I ever met in a nightclub always ended up being part of a relationship I needed counseling for after it was over. You learn the lesson pretty quickly; No matter how nice they seem when you meet them there, the fact that they are THERE is a NO SALE sign regardless of what you think.” Though he works as a night club DJ, he does not date people who spend time in night clubs. He says what he’s seen in night clubs over the years as a DJ makes him know he never wants to take his work home, IN ANY FORM. “I make GREAT MONEY as a DJ for the few hours I work. I don’t usually date while Djing a night club because I never want a woman I love to sit at home while I’m in the darkness of these environments. No one should have to trust me that much. I meet a woman I love and who loves me, I leave the money in the club and move on with my life in the hopes of establishing a loving home and family life. A good woman and good home life is worth more than I’ll ever be able to make in a night club as a Dj.”If there’s an emotionally unavailable or pained woman in the room, he can find her with his eyes closed and manage to pick her over every healthy woman he MIGHT have met. (Another reason he doesn’t date much…lol)When not working, he’d prefer to relax in a city where no one knows his name, happy that he can make a first impression with strangers that is not affected by his radio and club entertainment career.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

In answer to some (particularly females) who have read the above only to show up IN THE CLUB no less, trying to convince me that everyone who partakes in night-life is not ‘bad’, I have this to offer. I suppose the inference is there, but it’s not really like that. It’s not about judgement, but about Christian discernement, and my effort to lead a life built on a Christ-centered outlook and standard. I suppose the matter does come up for discussion at times, but in the end, when tested, it’s a simple outlook that keeps me morally and ethically safe. And yes, I will agree that in Acadiana it’s also an outlook that would make it easy for a guy to have trouble finding a date. Lol. I’m willing to ‘be alone’ if necessary to hold the standard. I do apologize for any of the statement that gives an elitist or arrogant appearance. It’s not about you. It’s about my Christian standard for living in and through some challenging environments.
