It all began in 1992 where metal music is starting to surface itself in Kedah. The band's lead guitar man, Nader has team up with Shahrom the drummer to form a death metal band called Graveless. They started to recruit some new comers from Kulim, Kedah. They are Khalid as the bass player, Yus as the 2nd guitar, Shidi as their screaming front man. The band has started writing their materials since then. One of their most well known number is "Tales From Eastern Ancestors". They have also included this number in the 1st Panggilan Pulau Puaka compilation which comprises some of the best metal acts in local metal scene such as Mistik and many more. The band has been playing in many gigs around Penang, Kedah & Perak.1997 is the year that it all started. Shahrom, the band's original drummer has left the band. So, Nader and other band members never gave up. They start to look for a new drummer. Jann join the band as their new drummer. After the band had found their drummer, they decided to move a lil' bit more to upgrade their style of music. They have recruited Faisal as the band's keyboardist. Together after all band members are finally recruited, the band has decided to change their name to Dawn Phenomenon.In the year 1998, drummer Jann has left the band. It took the band nearly 6 months to find their new young drummer, Apit. The new drummer, Apit was playing with the band called Culthero & Mandatory. They recruited him and starts to write new materials for their upcoming EP. In 1999 the band has emerged into the local underground scene when they played in a gig held in Amazon Discotheque. They have succesfully regain their status as one of the pioneer in metal music scene. Along with other metal legends such as Sil Khannaz, Vociferation Eternity, Aradia, Haya Griva, Necrotic Chaos, Langsuyr, Silent Death, Braindead, Nebiras, Tandus, Mistik and many more they have lifted their reputation to a new level. They have been performing in many gigs all around Peninsular Malaysia since then.In the year 2000 the band has step into the recording studio to record their 1st ever EP. The band was scheduled to release it in the same year but at the same time a tragedy happened in the band. Their young and promising drummer, Apit was arrested for drug abuse. He was sentenced a year in a rehabilitation centre. This incident did affect their 1st EP release which was scheduled to be out on the same year. A year passed, Apit was released from the rehabilitation centre. The band went into the studio again to complete the recording of their EP. Also in the same year Shidi quit the band and was replaced by Nizam, a former Damak's vocalist. In the year 2001 "Into Tragic Dimension" EP was released under Nebiula Production.Again in the same year the local metal scene is stormed by the "Black Metal" issue. It was the darkest era of Malaysian underground metal scene. The band's EP was retreated and never went into the market again. Due to these obstacles, the band has stop playing in gigs. Its been almost 3 years since the "Black Metal" issue. There's no metal gig or whatsoever. The whole underground music scene was wipe off by the local authorities.It was a total devastating moment for the band whom just released their 1st EP. But it never let their spirits went down the drain. They kept on practising and they have been playing in some small gigs around Penang. In the year 2005 Apit was replaced by Valen, a new talented drummer from the band called Untitled. It was a new start again for Dawn Phenomenon after all the mess that occured in between those years. In the beginning of 2006, Khalid the bassist left the band and was replaced by Saiful.In the August 2007, Apit the promising drummer of the band has rejoined the band to replace Valen as the permanent drummer. But sadly Apit couldn't last long due to his health condition. He has to resign from the drummer post and give way to a new talented drummer named Nikki G from Kulim, Kedah. Nikki was formerly a bassist for a band in Kulim, Kedah. And at the same time, he's the drummer for a death metal band too. Due to the uncertainty of the bands he has joined, Nikki has decided to join Dawn Phenomenon. And at the same time, Saiful has been fired from the band due to his attitude and discipline problem. The band are currently plays with no bassist. Keyboardist, Faisal had to temporarily play the bass position. May 2008, after been searching for the right person to fill in as their bassist for so long, Shidi the band first vocalist have decide to take the responsibility. He replaced Saiful as the band's bassist. With this new line-up, the band are set to blast their way out of their painful years and make a glorious return to the Malaysian Metal industry.February 2009, again the band had to go thru another changes of their drummer. Nikki G has been kick out from the band becoz of personal agenda. He is no longer the band member of Dawn Phenomenon and he never was!Now the band has come out from their agony to rock all metal heads. They are on the mids of writing new materials for their 1st full-length album. With the new line-up the band has grown up to a new era of progressive and technical death metal. They have been working hard for this album. So, watch out for their next release !!!!!!!!
