Centrepiece

..Centrepiece began in early 2005, fronted by singer/songwriter and keys player, Simon Reddrop. He had been performing for many years with various bands, but when he began songwriting himself, he was inspired to go beyond the music. He wanted to expose human thought by speaking with real honesty and passion, which would be loved and understood by audiences around the world. What he set in motion was an addictive musical momentum.In late 2005, Simon was joined by guitarist Luke Palmer, bass player Shaun Palmer and drummer Matt Bartlem.In 2006 they began writing and tracking their four-track EP, which was recorded by Matt Bartlem, resident sound engineer at Loose Stones Studio. They collaborated with Bernie Wedrat, friend and producer, who mixed the EP. The entire process was stretched out over an extensive and frustrating year, but once completed, it became the platform they needed to take their music to the next level.What began as purely guitar-driven rock, gradually matured and was artistically blended with intricate keys, pads and strings, producing a more melodic and rhythmic-driven sound. What they created was a highly infectious and captivating soundscape, through which Centrepiece has established their idiosyncratic tone.Their finely tuned live performances are fuelled by their unrestrained energy and passion. Their music is exciting, intriguing and accented by irresistible hooks. Their love of life, music and performing is unmistakable, and their drive is evident - not to acquire fame and wealth, but to simply create a new standard and a fresh sound.
