The Davao City based alternative-indie rock group.1017 was started early 1998 during the High School years of the Al-ag Brothers James Anthony(vocals), Mark Anthony(guitars/back up vocals)and their childhood friend and neighbor John Fortich(drums) all came from Davao Christian College,Toril Davao City,the band is formerly known as Fatal Pandesal,then they changed it into Sonic Playground,few years later, friends from the other band joined the group .Johann Longakit jr(bass)and Federico Lorenzo Pasagui a.k.a. Chokoy(lead guitars).when they get into song writing Johann suggested the name Flight 1017 which is relevant to what is happening in the country during the state of emergencyTHE PROCLAMATION 1017 , eventually changed into 1017 by Mr. Joel Casas,a friend who is a program director from an Fm station ,Over the past year they have played some of the hottest clubs throughout Davao City and other neighboring Cities . It goes without saying that the players of 1017 dream of leaving the average day job to tour and share their music with people all over the country but are now seeking to increase their local fan base and set their music free. 1017 offers funny and emotional experience with music that is real. The listeners connect with the music and thus with the players themselves. It has been said that you come to a 1017 show , you cannot walk away without feeling something.
