I emailed the actual artist, Charlie Pecot of Falik about this amazing song and here is what he said. * * * * * * * * El Efé started off as an acoustic piece to act as a theme song for a fictional character Falik/Charlie Pecot. He/I got the name "el Efe" because he/I used to wear a hat that looked like an elf's hat. He and his friends were sitting around embibing in some local spirits when one of them tried to spell "elf". It came out phonetically as "el ef". He then added an "ay" just for sport. The song felt like it needed a harder edge to it so I added the drums and the distorted synth bass. Believe it or not I had to back off the distortion after I realised I was scaring some folks with it, which wasn't my intention. The chime was added later to give it a more goth feel. As I got into putting it together it seemed to take on a life of it's own. This one is one of my favorites because I think it really demonstrates well the use of urban elements other than hip hop, big beat, or house to make contemporary belly dance electronica.Go to www.falikshow.com to hear more fantastic music and tell Charlie uFloria sent you!Visit uFloria’s mySpace at www.myspace.com/ufloriauFloria is a member of Miami Bellydance Meetup! www.bellydance.meetup.com/55/about
