"If you label me you negate me"
Søren Kierkegaard
I am a number that you cannot reach. I am the point that no one else sees. I'm the secret you can't tell, the reason that you fell... The sad song you can't stop singing... The ringing in your ears... I am the cinder block tied to your ankle; you push me over the edge. I'm the tattered silky blanket that you always to take to bed. The dirty lenses on your most comfortable pair of glasses... The contact lenses always drying out... I am a kaleidascope twisting the light, a distorted reflection of what is right. I'm the love that grips you when you think you should let go, the answer that makes no sense to a question constantly posed. I am the future that you cannot find. I am an object left behind.

"By opening our eyes we do not necessarily see what confronts us. We are anxiety-ridden animals. Our minds are continually active, fabricating an anxious, usually self-preoccupied, often falsifying veil which partially conceals the world..."Iris Murdoch, "The Sovereignty of Good"

Truth maintains no image among fickle fare...
Our lives comprise a compromise that's lying just beneath; it's the ground under our feet. Crushed by the friction of constant motion, this is where the sand meets the ocean.
I walk on tiny fragments of broken dreams in a world that's ripping apart at the seams. In the midst of myth and fantasy is an echo of truth we cannot perceive.
This is human history, bound and gagged by centuries. Painted with words and taken for granted, it's been hailed and chanted; we cannot recant it.
So, what can I, this instant give, that all of time cannot take? And, what does it mean to be real in a society built for the fake?
While 'reality' rips the True, I keep searching for the glue.
Here I'm frantically failing to see...
In perfect stillness eternity whispers as my eyes are distracted by time's tiny pictures.

"...In a certain sense nothing can be spoken of so briefly as the Good, when it is well described. For the Good without condition and without qualification, without preface and without compromise is, absolutely the only thing that a man may and should, will, and is only one thing. Oh, blessed simplicity, that seizes swiftly what cleverness, tired out in the service of vanity, may grasp but slowly! That which a simple soul, in the happy impulse of a pious heart, feels no need of understanding in an elaborate way, since he simply seizes the Good immediately, is grasped by the clever one only at the cost of much time and much grief..."Søren Kierkegaard

Slapped in the face and shaken awake, yesterday's dream subsides. Heart broken for a loss of innocence, oh how I miss the bliss of ignorance. Trying to live in the in between, longing for a place less familiar... This is a time for letting go. Leaving losses, finding friends, a new life begins. A different person looks back from a mirror in a glance, seeing life for what it is. Breathing in, the now, and wanting to want nothing, desires sometimes change. Through long nights and strange days, the nightmare slowly fades. This moment is a gift. Lord, help me, to see it for what it is.

God is love.

"...free will, though it makes evil possible, is also the only thing that makes possible any love or goodness or joy worth having. A world of automata--of creatures that worked like machines--would hardly be worth creating. The happiness which God designs for His higher creatures is the happiness of being freely, voluntarily united to Him and to each other in an ecstasy of love and delight compared with which the most rapturous love between a man and a woman on this earth is mere milk and water. And for that they must be free."
C.S. Lewis (from Mere Christianity)

Nationalism, Einstein maintained, breeds in citizens a propensity for aggression and a perilous assumption of moral superiority. He reasoned thus: “So long as the individual state, despite its official condemnation of war, has to consider the possibility of engaging in war, it must influence and educate its citizens—and its youth in particular—in such a way that they can easily be converted into efficient soldiers in the event of war. Therefore it is compelled not only to cultivate a technical-military training and mentality but also to implant a spirit of national vanity in its people to secure their inner readiness for the outbreak of war.â€From: Link

"Do you not know that there comes a midnight hour when every one has to throw off his mask? Do you believe that life will always let itself be mocked? Do you think you can slip away a little before midnight in order to avoid this? Or are you not terrified by it? I have seen men in real life who so long deceived others that at last their true nature could not reveal itself..... In every man there is something which to a certain degree prevents him from becoming perfectly transparent to himself; and this may be the case in so high a degree, he may be so inexplicably woven into relationships of life which extend far beyond himself that he almost cannot reveal himself. But he who cannot reveal himself cannot love, and he who cannot love is the most unhappy man of all."
Søren Kierkegaard, "Either-Or"
