Karla Lara was born in Tijuana, B.C. a northern city of México. She had her first approach into music at the age of 7 by playing the piano. Later, as a teenager she met punk music and in a short time she was absolutely involved with this ideology; musically and as a way of life. Here is where we can find her most big influence in a lot of senses.
In the year 2000 she moved to México City to study cinematography and there is when she meets trance music. Immediately she got interested for being part of that scene and started to make little parties whit some friends.
In 2002 she returned to her native city and start djing, and then she created her own promoter company and crew called: Acida Project. They started making parties up there, being this way pioneer of the trance scene in the northwest of México. In a short period of time she was already playing professionally in the northern states of the country.
At the beginning of the year 2004 she and her work team went back to México City to make parties over there, and it was in this year when her career takes off national.
In the beginning of 2006 she takes part in the Sounds of Earth..s roster – the most important dj agency of psychedelic and progressive trance in the country – and in that same year she started as the agency..s Booking manager, working with the top names of the mexican electronic scene like: Vazik, Jerga, Valeria, Tron, Shove, Barak, Odiseo and Forza, to mention some.
She created along with Yesica Luna a.k.a djane Yesika and other girls, a project called Up & Loud, in which djanes, vjs, design artists and performers of the mexican electronic scene (of all genres) are involved, to support and give a bigger projection to the female talent.
She has played next to the best exponents of the International and Mexican trance scene in many important stages all around México and Europe.
She has played also at Fusion Festival 2005 & 2008 (Germany), Magic Castle (Ireland), Ministerium fur Entspannung (Germany), Ov Silence Club & Ov Silence Festival (Germany), Solstice Festival (Netherlands), Antaris Project (Germany), Tundra Festival (Lithuania), Festival Monte Mapu (Chile) and others.
She..s also a collaborator of Dj Concept, which is the most important magazine of the electronic scene in México.
After 6 years of djing, Sankha has developed a more matured sound, a reason why she..s now the most consolidated and representative trance djane in México, and one of the few female djs that is constantly required to play at parties and festivals all around the country.
