And its getting amazing word-of-mouth.... "A fantasy action movie in the grand style...It looks great and moves beautifully...As a statement of potential, SOUL SEARCHER must be one of the best-value movies ever made."- THE GUARDIAN "A rollercoaster ride...Miles ahead of some of the multi-million dollar blockbusters I've seen." - DISORDER MAGAZINE "This is ground-breaking digital film-making, it has heart and soul and action and excitement." - IMPACT MAGAZINE
So many British independent films churn out the same old dross we've seen a hundred times before - how tough life is up North or cockney gangsters in trouble. Blah blah blah...but not 'SOUL SEARCHER'. This is a high-concept, action-adventure film, which defies its very un-Hollywood budget to produce some spectacular set-pieces and special effects, whilst never losing the genuine heart of the characters. It took four years of torment and torture by the filmmaker to make - is MySpace even that old? And the 'Making Of' documentary is an incredible insight into the filmmaking process and an education in how (or how not!) to make a movie. But now it's out on DVD and it was definitely worth it.Check it out if: - you still miss 'Buffy' and 'Angel' and consider Joss Whedon a God amongst men - the films you like are described by the snooty press as 'cult' and 'niche' - you loved 'The Matrix' and secretly pined to be 'The One' and snog Carrie-Anne Moss - you're a Trekkie and own a light-saber - you love comics and comic-book movies, and secretly dress up as Spiderman (okay - maybe not that one!) but seriously...how often does a British film come along that against the odds really delivers on the action, fantasy and romance? August 14th, that's when.
