In summary: warmer weather - concerts... many, hiking, biking, walking; colder weather - fewer concerts, less hiking/walking; weather regardless - guitar playing, songwriting, writing, drawing, reading, listening (to LOTS of music), watching (tv or movies, less than music). Enjoy!
Local musicians/bands... country-wide musicians/bands... world-wide musicians/bands... fellow music geeks... people dedicated to all artistic endeavors... and maybe an actual REAL woman who shares the same crazy passions as mine ... nevermind, I found her... or rather she found me, I think.

My favorite film of all-time is 'True Stories' [see clip below], so if you have seen and also LIKE this film we should have a viewing party because everyone else I've shown this film to has since given me nothing but strange looks. Now because 'True Stories' happens to have been directed by David Byrne of the Talking Heads, it naturally follows that my favorite Concert film of all-time is the Talking Heads' 'Stop Making Sense'. And my (close) second favorite film of all-time is Terry Gilliam's 'Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas' [see Books], the Criterion edition because it includes all the extra documentaries about Hunter Thompson and the novel itself. Some additional great cult films/guilty pleasures: Army Of Darkness, Clue, Where The Buffalo Roam, Soapdish, Birdcage, High Anxiety, Blazing Saddles, Blues Brothers, Sleeper, South Park: The Movie, Baseketball, Big Lebowski, What's New Pussycat, Kingpin, Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid; so on and so forth.
Since the DVD is now officially in my possession, my hands-down favorite show is 'Flight Of The Conchords'. Otherwise, its mostly a handful of PBS shows that my antennae can manage to get a clear signal on.
Ongoing project of reading all of Hunter S. Thompson's collected letters, novels, articles, etc. I also enjoy reading comprehensive auto/biographies on rock musicians or tomes written by the musicians themselves; I highly recommend: 'This Must Be The Place: The Adventures Of The Talking Heads In The 20th Century' by David Bowman, 'Hammer Of The Gods: The Led Zeppelin Saga' and 'Old Gods Almost Dead' by Stephen Davis, 'The Beatles' by Bob Spitz, 'Strange Fascination: David Bowie - The Definitive Story' and 'The Thrill Of It All: The Story Of Bryan Ferry & Roxy Music' by David Buckley, 'Positively 4th Street' by David Hajdu, 'Tarantula' and 'Chronicles Vol. 1' by Bob Dylan, 'Ghost Rider' and 'Traveling Music' by Neil Peart, 'Like A Rolling Stone: Bob Dylan At The Crossroads' by Greil Marcus, 'Conversations With Tom Petty' by Paul Zollo, 'I'll Sleep When I'm Dead: The Dirty Life And Times Of Warren Zevon' by Crystal Zevon, and all the collected writings of Lester Bangs. Also the occasional well-written comedy/satire book, most recently: 'I Am America (And So Can You!) by "Dr." Stephen Colbert.
I steer clear of the term "Heroes" (except for the Bowie song) as it puts a great deal of pressure on the people named. Rather I find it better to have people who are an inspiration to me, such as David Byrne [see below], Lou Reed, David Bowie and the late great Doctor of Journalism himself, Hunter Thompson.
