Hmmm..about me.. Well I was born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario, where I lived until I was 19 and had to leave town because of an unfortunate bad mouthing incident in a bar after a few too many brewski's...long story short..my boss asked me the next day if I knew what "don't bite the hand the feeds you" means. After being relieved of my legal secretary job, my friend and I decided to look for greener pastures in Winnipeg...lived there for about a year and a half until I realized that I wasn't quite making ends meet. I moved back to my parents house in Thunder Bay, and a short time later found my husband through an ad in the paper...not what you are thinking!! He was the leader of a top 40 band and was looking for a singer..I auditioned for the band, and got the job. We toured from Sault Ste. Marie to Prince George B.C. between February 1984 and October 1986. Those were the days when bands played from Monday to Saturday, travelled Sunday...and didn't get ANY time off!! It was a great experience, full of ups and downs, but definately no regrets! By the end of 1986, we were all becoming burnt out and decided to go our own ways. Except Dereck and I....we decided to settle down in Winnipeg, where we were introduced to Monika, who was putting together a band called Perfect Kiss...She wanted Dereck to be her soundman, and she hired me to sing back up vocals (we are a package deal!!). We went on the road with them for a few months, until I could no longer stand it (her). Dereck stayed on and did sound until she could find someone else, while I stayed in Winnipeg, again working as a legal secretary. When Dereck was done his stint...he was offered a job in Olds, managing the IGA...we decided this would be a good move since we just got engaged and it sounded like the right thing to do. We got married in 1988, had our son, Chris, daughter, Kimberly in 1991, and another daughter, Chelsea in 1993. While the kids were growing up, I stayed at home and tried to do the best job I could to raise them to be good kids...Fast forward to today..They are the greatest kids ever!! They all have inherited the love of music...Our house is always filled with guitar, piano, drums, singing...so much fun!!! Now that the kids are growing up, and Dereck and I are able to get back into our love of music, we have been blessed to get back in touch with people we met on the road, friends of friends on the road...new musicians and just plain great people. I am excited about this new chapter in our lives as we are rediscovering our first love...with our kids and all of you that mean so much to us!!
