About Me

The Rules
"Live every day like you're gonna die someday, but it probably isn't tomorrow."

"Never treat others as you would not have them treat you."
"All things in moderation, including moderation."
"Fake it till you make it. It is much easier to change your thoughts than it is to change your actions, but you have to change your actions in order to change yourself."
"Live as if you already have whatever it is that you want because you already do."
"If you want to get ahead in life don't play fair. Give your friends, family, and loved ones as much advantage as you can possibly give."
"Always remember that validity is related to the conceptual context in which it is being determined, and all contexts, regardless of the degree to which they are shared, are conceptual and unique."

I am not the person in the book; I am the person who is reading it.
I have learned that if you apply your thoughts you can get whatever you want in this life.
I was a pretty good student and played baseball in my high school and college days, but have never been one to force myself to work too hard at something I didn't enjoy or keep lots of people hanging around just to feel comfortable. My freindships are very deep but not too broad, and it isn't work if you enjoy what you are doing.
I found out that the way to make positive changes or stay positive in your life is to make the choice to do the positive thing when the choice presents itself no matter how great or small it may seem.
Jobs & residences: Most of my life I have lived in Indiana, but I have lived other places as well. I have worked as a high school athletic director in a small-town school; I've worked in Japan as an educational consultant & teacher, have been a supervisor at a ski resort, an International Academic Programs Specialist, and I am now a full-time student - for the third time.
I speak Japanese and Spanish
I love to travel, and I have been to around 20 foreign countries in total, and hope to get to South America for some boarding to mark that off my continent list. (If you have been to Antarctica, post a message to let me know.)
Have a great day!

"I remember one morning getting up at dawn, there was such a sense of possibility. You know, that feeling? And I remember thinking to myself: So, this is the beginning of happiness. This is where it starts. And of course there will always be more. It never occurred to me it wasn't the beginning. It was happiness. It was the moment. Right then." -The Hours

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on unreasonable men." -George Bernard Shaw

It's already there...

We experience what we experience, not because "it" acts on "us" but rather "we" act on "it."  The act of perception, as straightforward as it may seem, is truthfully an act of ignorance.&n...

Love and a Glass of Water

Optimism looks at a glass of water and believes it to be half full. Pessimism, at the same time, is certain that its half empty. Perfectionism takes note only that its not completely filled, and Des...
