About Me

I have lost the ability to construct a narrative. This becomes really problematic when you are still in school. Nerdy things and I are undergoing a trial separation. One of us is having a hard time with it. People tend to think I am more intelligent than I actually am. Sadly, they catch on pretty quickly. I recently realized that the rise in debit card use has given bartenders and the like the unfair advantage of always knowing your name. A social resource whose importance should not be overlooked...I now only use cash.

My Interests

Graduating. Finding headphones that play in both ears, guitar strings that are not covered in "finger goo" and a microphone that sounds a bit less like my uncle Old Heffa with a chicken bone stuck in his throat (Which really does produce a horrible sound, and yes I do call him old heffa).

I'd like to meet:

Me six years ago so I could punch myself in the face.

Music:

The Murder City Devils, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Mirah,Band of Horses, Modest Mouse, Iron and Wine, Wolf Parade, Pearl Jam, Whisky Town, Eliott Smith, Ryan Adams, okkerville River, The Mountain Goats, Franz Ferdinand, The Mars Volta, At the Drive In, The Bangs, Iggy Pop, Coldplay, Cat Power, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Pharmacy, The Doves, Secret Dance Band, Manta Ray, Dashel and the Robot, Casio Tone for the Painfully alone, The Blood Brothers, The Eels, The Shins, Mazzy Star, Jessie Sykes, The Fire Theft, Mates of State, I am the World Trade Center, Johnny Cash, Flogging Molly, Apples in Stereo, The Decemberists.

Movies:

Anything that makes me feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel in a somewhat believable way. There really are not any Garden State endings in life and they should have forgotten about each other in Eternal Sunshine. (In retrospect I am actually a hopeless romantic who greatly enjoys the aforementioned films. I must have been in a bad mood when I wrote the above).

Television:

Anything about impending disaster.

Books:

I find myself reading a strange amount of historical fiction lately...

Heroes:

My dad for building retarded-small model ships as if he were actually going to sail them. RJ Reynolds.
