Hello friends, my name is Yao Ming (Chinese name: Pinyin: Yáo MÃng). I was born on September 12, 1980 in Shanghai, China. I am a Chinese professional basketball player and is currently considered one of the most dominant centers in the NBA. I play for the Houston Rockets in the National Basketball Association. I was selected by Houston as the 1st overall pick of the 2002 NBA Draft and eventually signed with them on October 21, 2002. I am also currently the tallest player in the NBA, listed at a playing height of 7 feet, 6 inches (2.29 m). In my rookie season. I am regarded as the most dominant center, if not player, to come out of China.
