ction=view¤t=46bd076d.pbwRight the time has come for me to give the real story of how and why i'm in the game. Officially it all started for me in 1996. This was the year i started to go to the Lighthouse aka the Darkhouse in Manchester a drum n bass night was run there virtually every week bringing the best drum n bass dj's to probably the grimest venue in the heart of inner city Manchester i got to see dj's like Andy C, Ray Keith, Nicky Blackmarket, Diemun Ed and EFX to name but a few. All the drum n bass dj's n producers i consider to this day my main influence and the main reason why i myself wanted to be a dj. At this point in time i already had a decent collection of vinyl i had just bought because i loved the music so i thought i might as well give djing a go. First i joined like a crew n i cannot for the life of me remember wot we called ourselves but i remember my dj name back then was Blacka J and there was MC Inspecta and Lamrock and sum other peeps who again i can't remember... i know poor. Anyway we did numerous house parties but nothing major i think we did 1 club play put but that was about it. After i left college i lost contact with them boys and was back doin my own thing but by this time i was going to London doing the club thing there it is at this point i discovered the Coliseum in Vauxhall and at this time the club was hosting nights from Twice as Nice, One Night Stand and Exposure there was more but you can find that out for yourselves. It was around this time period i caught the UKG bug and started going to buy more and more UKG vinyl and was really interested in not just the dj's but the producers as well i loved listening to Todd Edwards, MJ Cole, TuffJam and many others as well as a producer called Paleface. However in UKG i found it hard getting bookings as a dj i ended up mcing over sets from the likes of Principal, Injekta and Blaze who i met through a promoter called Adam Cole i went under the name of NRG and mced in various clubs around Manchester and Yorkshire. My biggest achievement was mcing at Manchester carnival on the mainstage in 1998 in 1999 i moved to London. This is where i started gaining joy with the dj bookings. I started getting a lot of work with the student union at the university i attended doing ACS events where i met up with Blacknights who again gave me more bookings and through these bookings i met other promoters and got a few more bookings. While doing the ACS events i met up with an mc called Dynamic M who also attended the same university (he went on to become a founding member of the Musical Mob Royale) and he introduced to another dj called DJ S.I. together we started doing mixtapes which eventually led us to doing pirate radio on different stations and guesting on different pirates via our links with not only Musical Mob but through links with Heartless Crew as well via the Red Sea Agency. We then landed a regular show on Taste FM and this is where i met the likes of Paleface, Cameo, Denzie and others and it was at this point me n S.I. became dj's for a collective known as E.N.D. and we released the tune "The Ends" featuring Lady Amina, Dynamic M and Bunzi. A huge track which then took us on tour with MTV Base and Blues n Soul Magazine got us playouts at Sidewinder and other well established promotions as well as concerts i have done sets at a RuffRyders concert and Jah Rule. After all the hype had died down with the ends tune i gave the djing a back seat for roughly 2 yrs as work was hard to come by then in about 2005 i met back up with Paleface and i got back on djing Paleface, Flukes and myself then started the Northern Line movement as we were going to Niche and other spots in Yorkshire and the midlands and hearing this new brand of 4x4 and we just got stuck in doing radio shows on Basscutz.com. Doing a cover show on 1xtra plus a Christmas show with N.A.S.T.Y. crew again on 1xtra plus now having a show on Deja Vu FM things are looking ok right now but i always want more so holla if u got anything 4 me....lol. Last thing i shud mention right now i am taking care of bookings for the likes of Crazy Cousinz, all Northern Line Dj's including Paleface. Rekless for full list holla,Sticky plus many more also if u want the 'Bongo Jam' pa or the 'Do U Mind pa. For more info holla 07852234139 or email me
