Marijuana is the most widely used recreational narcotic in the world, the United Nations recently reported that as many as 141,000,000 people WORLDWIDE were daily users of marijuana and many more are likely to have at one time or another tried it but found the effects undesirable.
With such a large proportion of the population choosing to use marijuana it has obviously become an issue for the governments of the world with many unfortunately choosing to legislate against marijuana.
Legalize! is a campaign group dedicated to highlighting the FACTS about marijuana and its use in order to educate you on just how beneficial Cannabis both as a drug and a plant can be. We seek to bring the marijuana legislation campaign to the forefront of British politics and make it a real election issue.
The trouble is where to start, Cannabis is a drug and as such carries with it the same stigma people assosciate with drugs. Illegal Narcotics are seen by many as dangerous, fatal and useless. With marijuana this isn't quite the case. Marijuana has an incredible history as not simply a narcotic but also as a medicine and a clean renewable energy source not to mention its uses in industry.
When Henry Ford first presented the Model T to the eager world, it was a car made primarily from hemp fibre, more impressive however, was the fact this car didn't need petrol....It ran on hemp biomass! It was cleaner, more reliable and economic, aswell as being GOOD for the enviroment.
Legalize! seeks to bring all this and more to your attention, aswell as providing resources for other Marijuana Activists in the hope that together we can press the governments of our respective countries to once and for all Legalize! marijuana.
