Down there I met some character across there, upwards, topwise, and topsy ways with a guitar. A strange lookin fellae was he. A song was played to my fair ear and the guitar was given to me as a gift. The song went a little something like:"Oh come with me to the rolling sea While the weather's calm and still We'll have some fun and laughter with The adventures of Portland Bill".So, off we headed towards the 'rolling sea'. The weather was dark and dreary, nothing like what I was led to believe by his cheery song! Pop goes the weasel and baskets of plumbs. Merrymaking at my place said Bill, "but" he said "I'll make you smoke outside of MY house" referring to his lighthouse where he lived and indeed the party would be taking place!!Anyway, to cut a long story short I gained some 'skills' from Portland Bill and have been playing guitar and writing songs ever since!And to cut a long story short I lost my mind!!
