Now, where was I?

About Me

I'm a loving, roaming free spirit, usually optimistic, always interested in what's going to happen next. I love people but hide this behind a cool mask of self-composure and restraint. Okay, so I'm shy sometimes too - at any rate, I'm soaking up the sun in southern California, pursuing screenwriting, acting, and the film biz in general. Before this I was in the Navy for ten years, graduated from the US Naval Academy in 2000, and grew up in the Midwest with those crazy Eddies of Edwardsburg...yeah, believe it. After returning from the Persian Gulf in 2005, I rode a three-month motorcycle trip around the United States of America - "Easy Rider 2005" - an homage to the original and to recently acquired freedom. My Interests

Film, books, writing, reading, exercise, astrology, travel, philosophy...and music, past, present, or future

I'd like to meet:

People who are honest when expressing their ideas, thoughts, feelings, and themselves

Music:

I grew up with a lot of Classic Rock and 80s. I still listen to most things 60s, 70s, 80s, some 90s, and a few things today. Often when I'm writing I like ambient-type stuff, trance/experimental - jazz or tejano when the lava lamps come on...Graham A. Masell, Ursa Minor, Wayside Stella, and Jeremy W. Reaves. I dig music

Movies:

Movies have inspired me from an early age. Since around Kindergarten - 1982, the following movies would be seen showing in the Knapp household: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars Trilogy, Conan the Barbarian, The Beastmaster, Xanadu, Grease, The Wizard of Oz, Footloose, The Karate Kid, Gremlins, Risky Business, The Howling, An American Werewolf in London, Rocky, Mr. Mom, Nat'l Lampoon's Vacation, First Blood, Clue, Treasure Island, Cocktail, Top Gun, The Color of Money, The Sting, Cool Hand Luke, An Officer and a Gentleman, The Deer Hunter, and A River Runs Through It. Other favs include: The Hustler, Raging Bull, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Woodstock, Inherit the Wind, When Harry Met Sally, Somewhere in Time, Murder by Death, Murder on the Orient Express, Boogie Nights, Broken Lizard's Club Dread, Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Chinatown, The Doors, Easy Rider, What the "Bleep" Do We Know?!, and so on, and so forth...

Television:

VH1, Comedy Central, BET, Weather Channel, Inside the Actor's Studio, Spike, Discovery, Mythbusters

Books:

Busy, busy, busy! Which means it's tough to read. But I'm blasting through Robert Rodriguez's "Rebel Without a Crew" and Aldous Huxley's "The Doors of Perception". Some other favorites include: "Slaughterhouse Five" - Vonnegut; "The Great Movies I and II" - Ebert; "Tapping the Source" - Nunn; "Jaws" - Benchley; "Astrology for Lovers" - Liz Greene; "The Sound and the Fury" - Faulkner; "Paradise Lost" - Milton; "Inferno" - Dante; "The Tortilla Curtain" - TC Boyle; "LOTR and The Hobbit" - Tolkien; "The Only Astrology Book You'll Ever Need" - Woolfork

Heroes:

You and me, me and yoU
