About Salute Your Shorts
Salute Your Shorts was a fun comedy show that aired on Nickelodeon from 1991-1992 producing two seasons and ran for many years after being cancelled. The series was created by Steve Slavkin and took place at a summer camp, Camp Anawanna. The show was based on a book he wrote earlier in his career entitled Salute Your Shorts: Life At Summer Camp. Anywho, the show was centered around the teenage campers and their experiences such as crushes, schemes, starting newspapers, annoying Ug the camp leader, cursed skulls and lot's of other funny stuff! Even the music worked well in capturing the moment of the scene and just really added to it all. So let's go back in time and remember all the great memories of Camp Anawanna. We still hold you in our hearts.
* In 1990-1991 Salute Your Shorts was nominated for Outstanding Young Ensemble Cast in a Television series award.
* In 1991-1992 Heidi Lucas and Michael Bower won the best young actor and actress co-starring in a cable series award. The other cast members were all nominated.
