***************************Thomas L. Mitchell II was born in New Haven, CT. At the tender age of 7, his mother anointed his hands and gave him piano lessons. He continued to pursue music, believing that God had something great in-store for him. He received the Holy Spirit at the age of 14 and accepted his call into the ministry at the age of 17.During this time, Thomas L. Mitchell was involved in scholastic and ministerial studies. In the fall of 2000, he matriculated to Southern Connecticut State University, pursuing an undergraduate degree in Music and Elementary Education. In the spring of 2007, he graduated with his Bachelor of Art degree in Music from Southern Connecticut State University. Currently, he is an Adjunct Professor at Southern Connecticut State University and is working on his Masters of Science degree in Education. His anticipated graduation date from Graduate School is May 2009.
He has shared the stage with many great performers such as Vickie Winans, John P. Kee, The Hawkins, Shirley Ceasar, Ricky Dillard & New Generation, Karen Clark-Sheard, Twinkie Clark-Terrell, Daryl Coley, Lacresia Campbell, Kurt Carr, Bobby Jones Gospel Retreat and many more. In the summer of 2004, he released his debut CD entitled, "Just Wanna Say Thanks." He has presently completed his sophmore album, "The Gospel According 2 Thomas...", featuring his community choir, LEVITIKUZ NATION. His heart's desire is to encourage someone who may have lost sight of hope and to let him/her know that it's the word of God that's going to keep us.Mr. Mitchell's musical style is very eclectic. He combines the joyful sounds of traditional gospel with contemporary, classical, and smooth jazz elements. His vocal arrangements are soulful and full of exciting neo-harmonics, augmented harmony, as well as four-part harmony.
