Art and artists in all forms...great photography, music, writing, theatre, dance, film, design, fashion, etc...

"To any artist, worthy of the name, all in nature is beautiful, because his eyes, fearlessly accepting all exterior truth, read there, as in an open book, all the inner truth."
- Auguste Rodin
"I think the reason a person becomes a photographer is because they want to take it all and compress it into one particular stillness. When you really want to say something to someone, you grab them, you hold them, you embrace them. That's what happens in this still form." -Joel-Peter Witkin
"I want to be with those who know secret things, or else alone" - Rainer Maria Rilke
"Is love a tender thing? It is too rough,
Too rude, too boist'rous; and it pricks like thorn." - Shakespeare
We Wear the Mask.
WE wear the mask that grins and lies,
It hides our cheeks and shades our
eyes,--
This debt we pay to human guile;
With torn and bleeding hearts we smile,
And mouth with myriad subtleties.Why should the world be over-wise,
In counting all our tears and sighs?
Nay, let them only see us, while
We wear the mask.We smile, but, O great Christ, our cries
To thee from tortured souls arise.
We sing, but oh the clay is vile
Beneath our feet, and long the mile;
But let the world dream otherwise,
We wear the mask!
Anyone who brings beauty and courage with them...
-"The job of the artist is always to deepen the mystery."
-Francis Bacon
