THE STORY OF QUICKSNAPThe Swedish Powergrunge act qsp are clearly pioneers within their scene/genre although they dislike beeing catigorizised.But now; How did all this happen??? The year was 1996 when four boys decided to do something more than just get drunk & disturb people.The four boys was:Carst: Vocals & BassMarty: GuitarsAndré: GuitarsDan: DrumsThey callad themselves “Neverdawn” & tried for some time playing different styles of metal and did their best while growing up. Carst made a decision to throw away his bass & concentrate on vocals so the band met up with a buddy & bassplayer called Anthony. They recorded some demos & after a while, Dan decided to leave the band wich name now was “Gazoline16”. Dan had lost the ambitions so there they were, looking for a new drummer.André made a call to their old friend Molle who had played drums earlier & they hooked him up. Along the way they made a new recording called “energyrock.swe” and that was the beginning of a new chapter. The bands name now was “Sonic Freakshow” and they made a couple of gigs with that name, Sonic Freakshow made another demo as well, they named it “Return to sympathy”. The last recording got great response. There was a review in Sweden rock magazine that led to more gigs, at some clubs i Sthlm and they also opened up for “Lambretta” when they appeard at “Orminge festival”.At this point the name of the band was “Quicksnap” and they had found a good friend to complete the line-up, Palle was the sixth member in a five-piece band, his mission was and is to help the band with some outragous sounds, Bongos, keyboards, samples and stuff. Now four boys had become six guys with big ambitions & great songwriting skills.They met up with Andy, a producer who helped them arrange their best songs and began recording them. So while they were locked inside the studio they decided to make a whole album of it. What they yet didnt know was that this was going to take a lot of time, a lot of strength and of course, cost a lot of money. Unfortunatley they faced the loss of another bro... Anthony wanted to walk a different path in life.Now their name was “qsp”, had a full-length album recorded, mixed & mastered but had no bassist. After a couple of weeks, Pete (earlier in A.M.P) contacted the band, they rehearsed for a while and it worked out fine. The year was now 2005 & the “Powergrunge” machine was on fire, “qsp” made a lot of gigs in Stockholm, got great reviews all over & the word was spread that “qsp” is the strongest live-act in town. Early 2006 “qsp” & Pete had some personal differences & made seperate ways.After working on some new material they found the missing piece, “Phil” is here & hopefully to stay. “qsp” are now ready to take on the world together.See U out there!!!
