Aby NDOUR was born in Dakar ( SENEGAL).While she was child, she was initiated very early to music by his famous old brother YOUSSOU NDOUR, one of the greatest African singers. Youssou NDOUR has noted very early that her sister is a talented musician and interpreter. In addition, Aby is a wonderful melody writer. In 1989, she integrated Youssou NDOURs group and participated actively in the recording of the album The lion in which she sang in chorus and therefore achieved her main dream which consisted of singing in duet with a famous singer YOUSSOU NDOUR in the title Macoy. In 1990, Aby took part on Amnesty Internationals music tour with Bruce SPRINGSTEEN, Sting, Youssou NDOUR, Tracy CHAPMAN and Peter GABRIEL..... Aby also appears also in the compilation News world party produced by the label PUTUMAYO with Miriam MAKEBA, Wyclef JEAN and other famous singers of world music. She succeeded to release four wonderful albums and the last one JAPPAL MU DEGGER (Dont give up) was crowned Best seller in 2004-2005 in Senegal. Medias welcome very well this album and people enjoy Abys songs. Aby is politically and humanly awakened, thats why she is deeply committed in all good causes such as humanitarian ones. She denounces in her topics social injustice and bad terms between developed and under-developed countries (North and South).
