Hey, I'm Justin. God welcomed a new breed of extremes into my life at young age of 15 when I first started snowboarding....I learned to experience how God created me to fight the elements of weather and to discover the God's creation of mountains.
During summertime I'm either doing missionary work or surfing at South Jetty and in the wintertime I can be seen riding big resorts or my home mountain Willamette Pass where I chill with locals.
I like to show my capability and ability to challenge God's Creation of Land and Sea. Music has evolved into my daily life which is a way of "fighting depression in ears". Music became a big part of my life in the winter of 2004, I received a cochlear implant surgery which made a big difference in my hearing so well and clear....
I now listen to my iPod all the time. I also got a chance to hear the sounds of shredding for the first time after 7 years of snowboarding. My iPod and my silver-colored Sony headphones helped alot in improving my new hearing, as I enjoyed the beautiful sound of music.
One thing that a lot of my friends really don't know about is I can lip read while I rock my iPod. One rough thing is that I don't know the lyrics to the music that I love but just how awesome they make sounds.
A love for God drives me to be a strong role model, mentor, and guru. More importantly, God created and made me to be who I am.
The snowboard scene has been a HUGE part of my life since I was 15 years old and being a Christian goes against the flow of the snowboarding life. There's something awesome about trying to hike with my 163 Andromeda board strapped on my backpack ascending uphill.
Snowboarding has always cultivated an outlaw image of guys and gals in ghetto baggy pants and winter jackets darting like speed-demons through the trees, jumping off cliffs and terrorizing the adults and kiddies as they bomb down the hill. The snowboarding culture the clothes, the cussing, the attitude, the partying, the drugs and the drinking tends to be a big draw for teens of both sexes. So I feel like God put me there teach people about Him and to be different.
I stand out more to people by what I don't do. You wont find any piercings on me body; no nose rings, earrings or tongue studs. God created me to be an all natural 5'11" 180 pound and wiry human body with no plans of getting tattoos. I dont look down on those who pierce or tattoo; its just not my thing. Neither is cussing or talking dirty. Everyone curses in snowboarding, even the girls. But not me, I want people to know that Im a Christian. My motto to everyone, including my friends who are out riding, is "when God is in your heart, it shows in the way you act differently from others."
Theres another thing you need to know about me: I'm a virgin. Yes, Im waiting because thats what God wants me to do. I want to give my future wife everything that I have. When you have sex with somebody, you give up a piece of yourself and you can never get that piece of you back. I want to give my future wife a special gift, and that is all of me. Thats why I'm a virgin.
