Life has been an adventure to say the least....

About Me

I've had a variety of friends & acquaintances during my lifetime. They've ranged from young to old, rich & poor, outstanding & average... to some just, good ole down to earth people. I've learned something from them all, as God has placed certain gifts in each of us.The photo of the little girl on the telephone is me. It was taken when I was two years old. ***Place your cursor on a picture to stop it & or to read about an individual photo. ******* I've been around entertainers since I was very young...God only knows why they've either found me or I found them, but for seasons of our lives we've crossed each other’s paths. Many of the entertainers that I worked with when I owned Omni Attractions (a booking agency) in New Orleans became like my family so I included them in my photos too. Others are a part of my testimony...and some just made positive impressions on us.**************************************************

*******Growing up I didn't have any mentors & made lots of mistakes; So when I became an adult, my compassion to help young people grew.*******A Heart for Ministry: Since rededicating my life to Christ in 1984; as a volunteer I've helped with children, youth & high school ministries, in New Orleans Louisiana, Tulsa Oklahoma & Lake Charles Louisiana.***My son James & I have also been involved with & supported the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) for 8 years & he is the leader of the FCA huddle at Wofford College.***I recently completed a year commitment to Habitat For Humanity in Spartanburg as an Americore/Vista volunteer sowing seeds to help provide decent housing for the needy, to strengthen these families & impove communities. During this time (In March '06) I also went with Habitat & helped built 11 homes on the Gulf Coast for hurricane Katrina victims.***I'm an Int'l Coordinator for ASPECT Foundation (non-profit exchange student program) mostly because I enjoy working with young people (& it helps keep me young too!!! LOL !!!).***After attending ORU & getting my degree in Comminications, I was a freelance producer & made promo video's for non-profits. One day I'd like to work on documentaries or other film projects again.

My Interests

Photography, movies, music, decorating, hiking/walking in the mountains or on the beach, scuba diving, sailing, travel, reading & ministry (Encouraging & helping others, etc.).***I like to Travel when I have the opportunity: I've visited most of the US; Europe (Belgium, Holland, The Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Italy, & France); Belize Central America; taken a cruise along the Mexican Riviera (Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan & Cabo) & visited Costa Rica. I also lived in the Virgin Islands for 6 months. ***My youngest son James traveled to Europe & hiked the Grand Canyon, Brice & Zion with me...& we became certified divers in Key Largo, Florida.**************************************************** ************************************I hosted over 40 foreign exchange students when I lived in New Orleans...And I've become family to numerous others over the years (They call me Mama Dianna or Mama D) because I've either hosted, been their welcome mom or found them other host families. My sons & I have enjoyed spending time with the exchange students & showing them "Southern Hospitality". Hopefully in some way we've been able to play a small part in helping promote peace between our countries & share our faith with them. Besides giving them tours of the state we lived in, they have also enjoyed going with us to Church Youth Groups, FCA meetings & to see James play football.***I ALSO ENJOY HANGING OUT WITH MY SON IAN & HIS FAMILY. I'd like to meet:

**I originally made this MySpace profile just to find my niece Michelle (Shell). After finding her & corresponding, within weeks she found out she was pregnant. I'm blessed to say that on Valentine's Day 2007 she gave birth to baby girl who she named Hannah.

Music:

***I like a variety of music, from Beethoven & Mozart to Jazz, some Country & Blues, Hip Hop & Rap....but I especially like Christian music including: Michael W. Smith, Casting Crowns, Bee Bee & Cee Cee Winans, Alvin Slaughter, Hillsong, dcTalk (Toby Mac, Michael Tait, & Kevin Max) T-Bone, DecembeRadio & Phil Driscoll etc....****We all meet so many people & it's sometimes hard to remember them all, but some of those that God puts across our paths leave positive impressions with us. And it's interesting when you meet musicians in a more natural setting instead of just back stage or in an arena where they're performing. These meetings give us glimpses into their true hearts. James & I enjoyed visiting with dcTalk for the first time, when we took them for a little tour around New Orleans before their concert in April 1994. They were very kind to James who was about 9 at the time. I was blessed to see their compassion for him, allowing James to hang out & they posed in photos with him. They weren't prideful or rude... Michael Tate started calling me "MAMA DIANNA"...which became one of my nicknames.***A few years later, we also met Michael W. Smith from a mutual friend. While visiting his farm (outside Nashville) we were blessed to see how down to earth he was, his compassion for others & the heart of his ministry.*******

Movies:

My blind friend Jim Stovall wrote a book called "The Ultimate Gift" & I encouraged him to have it made into a movie. I wrote the first draft of the script & helped him start the process...God took it from there. See the movie trailer below:The Ultimate Gift movie trailer

Add to My Profile | More Videos ************** I like a wide variety of movies, especially Comedy.....I can't name all of my favorite movies, but here are a few I've liked over the years: *The Count of Montechristo, Hitch, The Pursuit of Happiness, The Ultimate Gift, Mel Gibson's "The Passion of Christ", Finding Forrester, Remember the Titans, Kate & Leopold, School of Rock, Walk the Line, First Knight, Shanghai Noon, Jerry MaGuire, Bruce Almighty, A Knights Tale, While You Were Sleeping, The Pelican Brief, & Erin Brockovich, Catch Me if You Can....... ***In New Orleans while filming "The BIG EASY", I assisted the location manager Itsy Atkins & rented them the downstairs area of my office building (Omni Attractions-500 Valence-New Orleans) for the scene were Dennis Quaid & Ellen Barkin were supposed to be eating & dancing at Tipitina's. It captured that "good ole boy" culture that is prevalent in Louisiana.***CHRISTIAN MOVIE: In Tulsa, James & I worked on several projects for Willie George Ministries & "Church On The Move". We also worked on Carman's first movie: R.I.O.T. (I was just a PA with a servant's heart & assisted with anything from working with the extras to doing slate...And they called me "slate mama" ...LOL). James was only in middle school at this time, but he assisted Director Steven Yakes & hung out with Carman, Sam Jones, T-Bone & Kimo helping them with their lines & watching Kimo's dog. Kimo was the one who stayed in contact with us for year afterwards. He had a kind heart for a bareknuckle fighter (I'm not a boxing fan, but this was truly a young man of God!).***************************

Television:

If have a few minutes: HGTV, Fine Living, the Travel channel or a comedy show .......*Christian shows: Joyce Meyer, Hillsong, Joel Osteen, Jentezen Franklin, James Robison, Creflo Dollar, Charles Stanley, Benny Hinn, Jesse Duplantis, T.D. Jakes, or Paula White & on Daystar: Creation Scapes or Worship Videos etc.; or the movie channels.*Though it isn't on anymore, and yes it's secular, but "SoNortorious" was interesting...Tori Spelling was good at capturing the various personalities of people in the entertainment industry. (I can relate...when I owned Omni Attractions, people were always being nice to me so they could get to know the entertainers I represented. Many of them were self-centered...and at that time I occasionally got sucked into it myself before I became a Christian. God's had to help me deal with my pride issues too). I also liked that Tori had no problem poking fun at herself on the show.****My mother knew Tori's dad many years before Tori's parents were married. In Dallas, Texas my maternal grandmother used to get upset with my mom & Aaron Spelling because they were on the phone all of the time (Back in the day when they had party lines!). Aaron would read her the stories he'd written & mom would give him her opinion about them). My mom was also friends with Aaron's brothers. In the mid 90's when I talked with Aaron's brother Sam in Dallas, he shared memories of that time & how they used to call my mom carrot top because of her red hair. It's a small world. ***When I was in Los Angeles (Sept.12-16 '06), I had an opportunity to share my testimony with Aaron's Rabbi Zvi Dershnwitz (At Sinai Temple on Wilshire Blvd. in Hollywood)...I felt blessed that Zvi allowed me to pray with/for him! (Rabbi's teach & don't pray for people like Christian priests do).******************************************

*Though I don't watch TV as much anymore, I do respect talk show hosts like OPRAH, who has been a pioneer for opening a lot of doors for women & African Americans. And over the years she's had some interesting guests on her show. ***I've only viewed "ELLEN" briefly when flipping through channels, but her dancing around is kind of fun & definitely an icebreaker (which seems to help her build a more intimate relationship between her & her audience). I use to have a little crush on Ellen DeGeneres' brother Vance when I was a teenager/young adult in NEW ORLEANS...way before she had her show. I don't remember Ellen from that time & we traveled down very different paths. *Yes, I know she's gay & I believe Biblically that practicing this type of lifestyle is choosing death. But I don't jump in people's faces that are bi or gay, because I'm not God, I just show my Christian faith by example: Like when James & I lived in Tulsa, we were kind to our neighbor Keva, prayed for her & took her food when I cooked. Months later she was shocked to learn that we had known she was gay all along & never confronted her about it. Then one day she surprised me by showing up at our church! Our example had touched her heart; she gave her life to Christ & changed her lifestyle!!! ***We must remember we aren't their judges & only God can touch their hearts. We can only be a witness.

Heroes:

If you've ever experienced abandonment, rejection, verbal abuse, gone through a few hurricanes & or had a close brush with death, then you'll understand why my greatest hero is the Lord. HE has brought me through multitudes of "character building" times in my life. ***And though I'm not proud of the things I did in my rebellious younger years...HE was faithful to deliver me when I cried out to Him when I was 29 yrs. old. His Word has brought comfort to my soul... ***Like: Psalms 18:1-3 I love Thee, O Lord my strength. The Lord is my rock & my fortress & my deliverer. My God, my rock in whom I take refuse; My shield & the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call upon the Lord who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.**************************************************** ****************************** ***Isaiah 54:4-6 says; "Fear not, for you will not be put to shame; Neither feel humiliated, for you will not be disgraced; But you will forget the shame of your youth, And the reproach of your widowhood you will remember no more. For your husband is your Maker, Whose name is the Lord of hosts; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, Who is called the God of all the earth. For the Lord has called you, Like a wife forsaken & grieved in spirit, Even like a wife of one's youth when she is rejected, says your God. Isaiah 54:4-6***During my rebellious years I learned the hard way that: Sin will take me farther than I want to go...Keep me longer than I want to stay...Cost me more than I can pay...And there is no sin that can yield enough pleasure that is worth the penalty (including the pain it causes).***************************While We Were Yet Sinners

Add to My Profile | More Videos*************************** *Hero's Biblically: Men & women of faith in Hebrews 11. They were over comers in many areas. Joseph & David went through too many trials to list, but... *Anyone who has experienced rejection, had others laugh at your dreams or you've been falsely accused will be able to relate to: *Joseph who was rejected by his siblings & falsely accused (by Potiphar's wife); ***And if you've been judged by your outside appearance before another person even knew you... you should remember David's experience. People looked at *David's outside appearance & didn't think he had the potential to be a king, but God knew his heart & the plans HE had for him....***************************************************** *********************************
