I really should be at the gym right now...

About Me

I am a 30 year old girl who likes the cinema, music and travel. I have just moved back to Cardiff after being away for 10 years and having a wicked time. I flatshare with a guinea pig called Piglet who is 3.

My Interests

Riding my scooter. Film, music, travel, dancing and living. And drinking, definitely drinking.

I'd like to meet:

Josh Hartnett and Larry David. (Obviously Larry for his looks and Josh for his sparkling wit). Oh, and Nelson Madela and Jean Paul Satre and Gandhi, bla, bla, bla, etc, etc, etc.

Music:

Changeable. Generally indie. I'm liking soundtrack albums at the moment and I'm listening to Northern Soul again. Anything that's not (new) R 'n' B, nasty dance, bad dad rock, pan pipe "moods" or country (with some exceptions).

Movies:

Amelie, Airplane, Before Sunrise, The Deer Hunter (just for laughs), any mafia film, Rumble in the Bronx, Shaun of the Dead, The Sure Thing, The Jerk, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Life of Brian, The Holy Grail, Twelve Monkeys, Brazil, Clue, most Woody Allen (Annie Hall a fave), Swingers, The Apartment, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill (1&2), Serenity, The Lost Boys, Con Air (guilty pleasure), the odd numbered Star Treks (or is it the even ones) - definitely not the one with the whale.

Television:

Curb Your Enthusiasm, Buffy, Look Around You (I'm rapping, I'm rapping, I'm rap rap rapping), Spaced (every damned episode), Alan Partidge, Jam, Peep Show, Family Guy, Green Wing, South Park, The Day Today, Brass Eye, Holby City - just to take the piss. Basically, the usual. Is Harry Hill (now he's on ITV) a guilty pleasure??? Another guilty pleasure is the occasional slice of Neighbours. When I say occasional, I mean daily.

Books:

With big pictures. Phillip Pullmann and Harry Potter, because mentally I am 12. Obviously, the Hitchhikers Trilogy (of 5) and everthing by Terry Pratchett (Jesus - I'm a nerd, aren't I?). Just finished "The Testament of Gideon Mack" which was amazing.

Heroes:

Debbie Harry. Eli Donovan. The Kids from Fame. Jessica Stevenson, Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright. My mum (ohhh bless). And Matt - cos he told me to say so.

My Blog

Sunshine

I saw this over Easter and really enjoyed it.  Of course it was remeniscent of every sci-fi space-type film there is, but did it bring anything new to the genre - I'm undecided.  The gr...

Hot Fuzz

I don't know whether I built it up too much or not.  Of course it was better than 99% or everything else in the cinema "these days" but I couldn't help but feel somewhat disappointed.  Many ...

For Your Consideration

The usual Guest ensemble (Posey, Levy, Smithers, Stifler's mom) plus Gervais gather in this comedy about the awards season.  It's bittersweet moments do make you almost feel sorry for these ...

Zoe's Top Tips

It's not really "dreams and the supernatural" and it's not a nude photo either.  Just one tip I learnt the hard way today, NEVER RIDE A SCOOTER/BIKE WITHOUT GLOVES ON, ESPECIALLY IN FEB...

B.O.

Why do some people smell so bad?  As a GP I do get to meet lots of different people and a small, but significant proportion of them have bad BO.  Actually, it's beyond BO.  What's wrong...

Tax doesn't need to be taxing

Yes, it does.  That's the point. I used to like Adam Hart-Davies and his love of the Romans and Victorians and his bike and his day-glo fashion sense.  Now I hate him with every fibre of my ...

NHS Guilt

Chirpy Zoë will be back next week..... NHS guilt is very similar to Catholic guilt, I should know, I've experienced both.  NHS guilt can also occur in other organisations.  It means that you...
