When it comes down to it, BigJonStud has the skills, creativity, and marketabilty that comes along once a generation. He is starting the return of the rennaissance man. Born Jonathan Dean in Harvey, Illinois ; the infamous murder capitol, he grew up blue collar and knows hard work working on the loading docks of the South Side and West Side, even though living 5 minutes from Chicago's South Side, Stud represents the CHI more than some of the more famous and popular artists that come from the area. He made it to Hollywood three years ago and has been working the L.A. underground scene in the 818. No hehasn't sold his soul or have been seen on a porn video. He brings a toughness and charisma that are ingredients for stardom as well as underground success. He does music for neither. Music is in his blood. He can spit that rapid fast Chicago style or slow it down for the ladies with a slower sexy pace. He can also sing. He has a variety of styles of songs that make for an album that will keep you on your toes. He's got some gangsta hits, some down south crunk or some West Coast laid back or some New York real hip-hop whatever you want. It comes from the fact that Stud has been exposed to various types of music from and early age. " My mother is a singer and performs to this day and my brother is a great musician who was signed to Elecktra records with the group Dakota Moon", says Stud. " I started playing the piano and saxophone but I was hard-headed, into sports and hated practicing". Sports played a big role but hip-hop music has always been a constant in Stud's life. Jonathan graduated from Bradley University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism in 2003. He is not just a rapper trying to be someone else or relying on a pipedream. He also won a Silver Dome award fro the Illinois Broadcaster's Association so he has a bright present and future. His knowledge of hip-hop, the 5 elements, the groundbreaking and founding artists have shaped him into the well rounded talent he is today. He has also been makin beats, too. He produced the Gladiator Films-Monsters of the MidWest mixtape distributed throughout the U.S. which featured songs like 'Vintage Pimpin', 'WMD's' and ' What is CHI'. He also has his Flamed Up mixtape coming this summer and his album release Chi-Town Legend, September, 2006. "Any true gangsta, female music fans or just regular real people can feel my music, ya know", says Stud. Music is a passion but Jonathan also is a music video director, has produced over 50 nationally televised shows and has worked on a half dozen films in his brief but young career.
