Following the success of her first single the songs "Broken hearted", "Best friend" & "Baby" also became top 10 hits.In 1995 Brandy was offered a role for a upcoming comedy for the UPN Network.Brandy Became the star of the Hit UPN comedy "Moesha" in which Brandy played the lead role and in 1999 went on to become one of the producers of the show.(The show aired for six seasons and still remains UPN'S Biggest Comedy and is now in Syndication on "The N")After 10 years the name "Moesha" is still a household name.In 1997 Brandy Began Recording for her Sophmore album "Never Say Never". For one song in particular Which was produced by Rodney jerkins Brandy had an idea to make it something to get the people talking.R&B songstress Monica was known for not only being a Fiesty young singer but as Brandy's biggest if not only Rival. Two successful female teenagers together fighting over a guy, was not only perfect.... But will go on to be Brillance. The first single off both Brandy & Monica's albums was chosen to be none other then "The Boy is mine". Summer of 1998 was just around the corner when the single was release and with in no time, Brandy & Monica scored a #1 SMASH HIT.In counting, The Boy is mine spent 13 consecutive weeks at #1! We don't know if the Boy was Brandy's or Monica's but we do know that the summer of 1998 was both of there's.The song became such a huge hit, it not only gave Both Brandy & Monica there first grammy but became the Biggest duet in US chart history by female artists, and selling 3 Million copies world wide.The Never say Never album went on to release "Have you ever" which gave Brandy another #1, as well as "Top of the world Featuring Mase",Almost doesn't count,U don't know me (like you used too) and Some how the song "Angel in disguise" made it's way on billboard's top 20 at &#16, even though it was never released as a single and with no promotion or video.Brandy's Sophmore album Never say Never went on to sell 6 Million copies in the US.After taking a break from her music in 2000, brandy went on to record the songs "Dance with us" Featuring P diddy & Bow wow and the song "Open" for soundtracks to the movies The wild thornberries & Osmosis Jones (which Brandy voiced over the character Leah.In early 2001, Brandy & Ray J covers the Phil collins song "Another day in paradise" overseas. The song became a top 10 hit in 5 countries.2001 Moesha was Canceled and Brandy didn't regret it. She was hard at work on her 3rd album "Full Moon".In late 2001 Brandy Released her First single in three years "What about us?" Not only did Brandy Showcase a new look she also introduced the world to a New sound!Brandy was now showing a more Adult,agressive and Deeper side to her beautiful voice as the song "What about us?" shows Brandy's versitility and pain, venting at a man who has done her wrong.What about us? Became a TOP 5 hit and the video became #1 on Both BET & MTV. It also became the MOST played song on AOL'S FIRST LISTEN with a record breaking 750,000 plays in one single day! A month before Brandy's album was to be release she let the public know that she was indeed pregnant with a girl and was due in the summer.The 2nd single Full Moon was released around the time Brandy was very much visibly pregnant, she was glowing. Fullmoon reached #16 on the charts.Brandy gave Birth June 16th 2002(Father's day) to Syrai Iman Smith.Who's Father Robert smith is the first cousin of super producer "Rodney Jerkins".Brandy's Pregnancy Became the first Reality show for MTV Brandy's "Special Delivery" was watched by millions every week, as Brandy counted down the months till her baby girl was born.After giving birth Brandy took yet another break. 2003 she became close acquaintances with 50 cent and G-Unit after doing a few Mix tapes with them and appearing in the very first G unit Video "Stunt 101".She began work on what would be her most personal album yet. Calling in heavy hitters Timbaland & Kanye West Brandy's 4th studio album was released on June 29th 2004 Reviews for the album where through the roof, Brandy was praised for her work but got little help from album buyers.Robert smith (Brandy's daughters father)purposly Went to radio to air out him and Brandy's personal business. Many believe it was a attempt to sabotage her record sales and promote his own up and coming artist but in the end Brandy's album didn't do well, going on to gold status (sales of 500,000), considering only 2 singles was released, Afrodisiac was still nominated for a Grammy award.After 10 years brandy decided to leave her label Atlantic Records shortly after her 2nd single "Who is she 2 u" was released.In 2005 Brandy launch her own hair line Ultima hair and began promoting it through 2006.2006 Brandy became the Judge of the highly rated hit show America's got talent now going into it's 2nd season.Brandy can be heard on P diddy's latest album "Press Play" and Carl thomas New album "So much better"As many of you know December 30th 2006 Brandy was involved in a fatal car accident which one motorist was killed.For the record, Brandy was not found to be intoxicated by any sort and she wasn't speeding and she WAS NOT talking on a cell phone.Brandy has not been charged with anything but has more then a few law suits against her dealing with the accident and the Court date is set for January 28th 2008.We Pray that as true fans, we all continue to support her at this time and don't give up on a woman who has been through more then enough and has given us over a decade of Beautiful music. Brandy is not a murderer she like any human bean was involved ina tragic accident and god will pull her through.Brandy is also hard at work on her 5th studio album under Family label KNOCKOUT ENTERTAINMENT which she co owns. BRANDY- 1994The self titled debut album from Brandy, released September 1994 released the hit singles "I wanna be down, "Baby", "Best friend" & Broken Hearted.The remix for her debut single "I wanna be down" Featured Hip hop Pioneers Queen Latifah, Mc lyte & Yo Yo is helmed as one of the 90's best RAP & R&B Collaborations.Brandy the album was highly influenced By Whitney houston, in which Brandy showed her vocal ability at the tender age of 14.The album went on to Quadrupal Platinum sales and made Brandy a instant star. Never say never- 1998Leading the album was the first single "The boy is mine"(co written by Brandy) Which featured R&B Diva Monica.Brandy initally recorded the song solo but after talks with Rodney jerkins Brandy decided the track needed another female, another voice and another character and the perfect fit would be Monica.To the belief of Many, Brandy & Monica hated each other, but instead of immediately denying it, both Brandy & Monica played into the rumor when they recorded the song in competition form.Although it took a while for Brandy & Monica to come together and actually record the song, due to label issues (Arista & Atlantic)When it was due it would go on to make history.Within in weeks time the song was already in the top 50 and before no time the song went straight to #1 on billboard and stayed #1 for 13 concecutive weeks.In 1999 Brandy & Monica both recieved there first Grammy for the massive hit single which went on to sell in total 3 million copies world wide.Brandy Followed up the success of the boy is mine with the #1 hit ballad "Have u ever" and continued with Top of the world, Almost doesn't count and You don't know me (like you used to) before wrapping the album up.NEVER SAY NEVER went on to sell more then 6 million copies in the US, and would go on to be named one of the Best contemporary R&B albums of the 90's and The best album (sales wise) of Brandy's career. Full moon- 2002in December 2001 Atlantic Records introduced Brandy's Hot new single "What about us?" to AOL's First Listen and in one day's time the song was streamed over 750,000 times and became AOL's most streamed single in AOL's history.In the video Brandy showed Power and contol as she questioned a man who has done her wrong and assures him that she doesn't need his bull&^%.The song Reached #5 on Billboard, the video became a BET favorite and put Brandy back on the map.She followed up with the sexy track "Full moon" in which the video shows a very pregnant Brandy. The single reached #16 on the chart.After giving birth to her daughter "Syrai" Brandy took a break to be with her daughter. Full Moon went on to sell 1.5 million copies in the Us and 2x's platinum world wide. Afrodisiac- 2004Talk about our love, the Kanye west pinned track was the first single off of Afrodisiac. Kanye west really believed in this track and really wanted Brandy to release it as her first single.The single reached #16 on the charts and briefly after the release of Brandy's 2nd single "Who is she too you" She parted ways with her long term label Atlatic Records.The album went on to sell GOLD (500,000+ copies) in the US mainly due to the lack of promotion and singles.Although the album is helmed a flop, it managed to be Nominated for a Grammy in the Best contemporary R&B album and a sould train music award nomination.Afrodisiac also recieved 4 stars from rolling stones with a host of great reviews.In 2005 Brandy released her Greatest hit's album "The best of Brandy to fulfill her 5 album contract with Atlantic records and later signed with the independent record label "Knockout Ent" (Brother Ray J's label)

MOESHA

Moesha is an American situation comedy produced for the UPN network from January 23, 1996 to May 14, 2001. It starred R&B singer Brandy Norwood as Moesha Mitchell, a high school student and her family living in Los Angeles.OverviewThe show focused on the life of an African-American family through the eyes of a typical girl. Her father Frank, a widower and a Saturn car salesman, has married Dee, the vice-principal at Moesha's school, much to Moesha's dismay. It was created by Ralph Farquhar, along with the writing team of Sara V. Finney and Vida Spears. The settings for the show include the Mitchell household and the teen hang-out, The Den.Production The show was first aired in the U.S. on January 23, 1996, however, the show was originally slated to air on the CBS network in 1995. CBS passed on the show and was later picked up by UPN to air in early January 1996 as a mid-season replacement.
