Born and raised in Texas, artist Wood Anthony (b.1978)is deeply inspired by traditional Mexican folk art and European surrealism. His works combine Old and New World elements to create a fantastic dream based on his experience but fired by his imagination. Moved by the artistic richness of his mother’s hometown of Zacatecas, Mexico, many of his works blend traditional Indian and Spanish forms to create a unique reactionary genre. His work is colorful, energetic and intriguing.Wood Anthony earned a BBA in Accounting from the University of St. Thomas and studied Drawing at the Glassell School of Art. He currently resides in Houston.
