About Me

I was born in San Francisco California in 1976 the same year that my Ford Bronco was made. I was raised in Oakdale California, "Cowboy Capital of the World," by an extremely musical, artistic and open-minded family. I am an active and licensed hair stylist/makeup artist and as you might have noticed I love dressing up. However, as much as I love decorating myself and living in a fast passed world I also love nature and animals and am a hippie at heart. I love creating and admiring earth friendly, cruelty-free, hand-made things. I have been a vegetarian/vegan for over 12 years. I love animals often more then most people. I am highly disappointed in the human race however proud on a smaller scale. I aspire to educate other people on important issues in doing so make a difference in the world....................................................... ..................................... Educational Links & Facts:
www.peta.org / www.peta2.com((CHOOSE VEGETARIANISM)) Farmed animals have no legal protection from horrific abuses that would be illegal if they were inflicted on dogs or cats: neglect, mutilations, genetic manipulation, and drug regimens that cause chronic pain and crippling, transport through all weather extremes, and inhumane slaughter. Yet farmed animals are no less interesting, intelligent, or capable of feeling pain than are the dogs or cats whom we cherish as companions. At the slaughterhouse, chickens are hung upside-down, their legs are snapped into metal shackles, their throats are slit open, and they are immersed in scalding hot water for feather removal. They are often conscious through the entire process..The kill rate in a typical slaughterhouse is 400 animals per hour, and “the line is never stopped simply because an animal is alive,” says one worker.According to the industry, more than 100,000 pigs die en route to slaughter each year, and more than 400,000 arrive crippled from the journey. At the slaughterhouse, improper stunning means that many hogs reach the scalding water bath (intended to soften their skin and remove the hair) alive. United States Department of Agriculture inspection records documented 14 humane slaughter violations at one processing plant, including finding hogs that “were walking and squealing after being stunned [with a stun gun] as many as four times.”A PETA investigation found workers at an Oklahoma farm killing pigs by slamming the animals’ heads against the floor and beating them with a hammer. www.peta.org------------------------------------------((ANIM ALS ABUSED AND KILLED FOR THEIR SKINS)) Humane treatment is not a priority of those who poach and hunt animals to obtain their skin or those who transform skin into leather. Alligators on farms may be beaten to death with hammers and axes, sometimes remaining conscious and in agony for up to two hours after being skinned. Snakes and lizards may be skinned alive because of the belief that live flaying imparts suppleness to the finished leather. Kid goats may be boiled alive to make kid gloves, and the skins of unborn calves and lambs—some purposely aborted, others from slaughtered pregnant cows and ewes—are considered especially “luxurious.”Shearling, contrary to what many consumers think, is not sheared wool; the term refers to a yearling sheep who has been shorn once. A shearling garment is made from a sheep or lamb shorn shortly before slaughter; the skin is tanned with the wool still on it.Hundreds of thousands of dog and cat skins are traded in Europe each year (with an estimated 2 million killed in China to meet the demand), but many are bought unknowingly by consumers since the products made from dog and cat fur are often mislabeled and do not accurately indicate their origin. When you buy leather products, you may unknowingly be purchasing leather from dog and cat tanneries. www.peta.org-----------------------------------------((PLEAS E SPAY & NEUTER YOUR ANIMALS AND DON'T BUY FROM BREEDERS.)) Approximately 2,500 kittens and puppies are born each hour in the United States. Animal control agencies and shelters receive approximately 6-10 million animals annually. Those who are not adopted within about a week (some 4-5 million of them) are killed either by a painless lethal injection or by undesirable methods like carbon monoxide or decompression chambers. In many areas where a practice called "pound seizure" is permitted, unclaimed animals can be given or sold to laboratories, where their deaths are often far from painless. www.peta.org
