I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Hey, I'm Scott Young. In order of importance, I'm a Christian trying to follow Christ and do all things to His glory. Then I'm a husband and dad, which I s'pose are tied. We've been married for 3 years and our little Michaela about 14 months old. Next, I try to put food on the table for the family. In my bachelor days I comfortably subsisted on Lucky Charms and Frosted Mini-Wheats for all three meals, but the family require all parts of the food pyramid, so I work in real estate, and dabble in the financial markets a bit. Beyond that I try to do some reading here and there, mostly religious and political stuff. I play guitar a bit and generally try to keep my family entertained.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Old friends.

Music:

Wilco, The Shins, Tom Waits, Sparklehorse. But to be honest, most of the time I listen to NPR or some such old man stuff.

Movies:

We haven't been to the theatres in 2+ years. Everything gets Netflixed. My wife fills up our queue so I just watch whatever comes in the mail. We like the indie films and documentaries.

Television:

Just Simpsons and Seinfeld. We don't have cable or dish and that sort of high class stuff.

Books:

I like reading reformed theology(Calvin and whatnot), practical investing books(Missed Fortunes, Rich Dad, etc), and political books(with a bent on liberterian ideas).

St Louis Architecture

For a Mid-west town, St Louis has some kind of over-the-top architectural oddities.  The first couple pics are entrances to some very old wealthy neighborhoods in the city.  The entrances we...
