Descending Further is a band that was started over four years ago by Dustin Gramando and Doug Komoroski. Two high school friends that shared the same love for the music and wanted to do more and go further than any of their previous bands. So as it started in a local basement of a friends house one day a week it grew and grew, and started to get recognized. Descending Further started to play as many local shows as they can and just kept going. But like most bands some members were not as dedicated and didn’t have the drive to make something great out of the music. As member after member, drummer after drummer, bassist after bassist, friend after friend left the band, it seemed that no one out there was on the same page as the founding members.
Three bassists down along with three drummers as well Descending Further had finally gotten their solid line up, one that is stronger and more dedicated then ever before. With three demo’s swarming local towns it seemed like things were finally on the bands side. That’s not the luck of this band however, after Doug (guitarist) almost lost his left hand in a fire accident. Dave (drummer) had nerve surgery done. Tyler (guitarist) was almost paralyzed at work. Some had their doubts of where the band would go from here.
Those people were not the band members. Their love for the music did not die and they did not think of this as a sign, but as another obstacle to overcome. Even after all of the so called bad luck the band still released their 2007 self released CD, “Faces of Barnabas†on time and played a local CD release show at the West Milford Coffee House.
We are not a band, but a family that stands strong together through the good and the bad. We love what we have been doing for the last four or more years and wont stop. This is our first priority; we can all say that we have turned down great life opportunities for the fact that it would have interfered with the band. In our eyes there is nothing better than playing music. We would love to have the opportunity to quit our jobs, dump our girlfriends and take our music on the road more and more. This is what we love, live, eat, and breathe; we won’t stop, we will not quit, it’s just not in us to do so.
