KILLSONIC

About Me

KILLSONIC is a musicians' collective operating in the greater Los Angeles area.....
Our many afflilates come from a variety of musical and aesthetic backgrounds.....
Our influences include but are not limited to:
Free Jazz a la Ornette Coleman, and Sun Ra...
20th centutry modern art music by way of Gyorgy Ligeti, Edgard Varese and Luigi Nono.....
Modern African and Eastern European folk music a la Konono No1, Taraf de Haidouks, New Klezmer Trio, etc.......
and the DIY ethics and attitude of punk rock and its descendents.......
Our performances range from and may include one, some, all, or none of the following:
Solo/Duo/Quartet/Sextet...
A Women's Choir.....
A 20 to 50 piece Marching Band.........
We are also very fond of audience participation pieces...... as we are fond of our audiences........"LA's Killsonic drop songs like slow-motion confetti bombs of noise-pop jazz, ethereal dissonance, lyrical chaos, and lingering vocals." -- Flavorpill.com
We have one CD for sale. It came out in 2007. The cover art looks like this:
You can buy it directly from us at our shows. Or you can order one here .
But honestly now, we'd prefer if you came up to us and said "Hi!" and then gave us hugs and coyly but sincerely told us how much you liked the show and then asked, "Can I buy a CD?" and then gave us some paper US currency. Here we are on the set of Sandra Powers ' Lucir y Sombra, May 6 2008 --
A short clip from our surprise downtown marching attack on Valentine's Day 2008: Thanks to Zach from LAist
