CON is ABOUT…Nature and tradition should be close to us all. Most people realize aspects of both; but unfortunately, they often neglect to think about their importance in our daily and future lives. In order to save and protect what is culturally and environmentally important to us, CON was created to spread national and worldwide motivation towards conservation using various mediums such as graphic and fine arts, music, and computer technology. CON started with a group of artists in Thailand who love nature and tradition dearly. Gathering their individual talents, they joined together to create this foundation and work cooperatively towards making a change not only in how people use native cultures and the environment, but how people think about them. Changing the way people think means changing their emotional investment in the world around them. It is CON’s belief that this change can be created through the graphics we wear and post; artwork we see and admire everyday; and the music we listen to and broadcast. Conservation is a challenging and ever growing concept. Many times people feel an inability to effect change in a destructive society. People believe that a single act will do nothing to change today’s problems. CON’s mission is not just about asking people to recycle or reduce damage to the environment, not only about asking people to buy culturally native goods. It is about creating a new culture in which people think outside the box and incorporate their beliefs into everything around them like music and art. Through these mediums we can create a generation of people in tune with their cultural roots and natural surroundings, producing a greater need to protect them. CON also looks towards a broader international scope. Some money from sales of CON products currently goes to benefit the WWF (World Wide Fund for nature), allowing people to buy local products that will benefit nature on a global scale. As a foundation, CON also looks forward to collaborating with artists from other countries as well as working with other businesses and institutions on an international level with the same goals in mind.
