Oh shit, I'm 40!

About Me

Myspace Layouts by Pimp-My-Profile.com

40 year old piano teacher who has a weird sense of humour. I'm looking to make friends, and possibly do some dating. I don't have children, and don't particularly want any because I spend a lot of my working week teaching them! Music is very important to me. I compose pieces for the piano when time allows and enjoy learning pieces by some of the great piano composers. I also enjoy watching and playing sport (I captain my cricket team in the summer). I also enjoy keeping fit, which is very important to an old bastard like me that's just reached 40!

My Interests

Music, gym, cricket, eating out in nice restaurants, cinema, theatre. Having a good laugh!

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who's interesting (there's precious few on this site!) People who have spiritual sides are very much required

Music:

Beatles, Blur, Basement Jaxx, Carole King, Chemical Bros, Gorillaz, Debussy, Stravinsky, XTC, Kinks, Quality dance/pop tunes, Satie, Chilli Peppers, Beck, Stevie Wonder, Hendrix, Bob Marley, Kate Bush, William Orbit, Kraftwerk, Brazillian jazz, samba, groovy latin american rhythms in general, Dave Brubeck, Devo, Tori Amos, All About Eve, T Rex, Clash, Stranglers, Delius etc. etc. etc!

Movies:

American Beauty, Psycho, Amelie, American Werewolf in London, American Pie (all 3), Taxi Driver (I say, is one looking at me, perchance!), Kes, Rebecca (Hitchcock original), Brief Encounter, Rosemary's Baby, Whistle Down The Wind, Whicker Man, Don't Look Now, The Devil Rides Out (sorry about all the horror - I need to unwind sometimes!)

Television:

Porridge, Dragon's Den, New Tricks, Tiswas (when kids TV was great!), Rising Damp, anything involving the wonderful Sir David Attenborough, Have I Got News For You, Bottom, Filthy Rich and Catflap, Young Ones, Balderdash and Piffle (with the utterly scrumptious Victoria Coren!). Hate reality shows - people with zero talent should not be allowed on our screens!

Books:

Bit of everything - love autobiographies and non fiction. I also like 'French Overpopulation' by Frances Crowded. 'Olympic Games' by Arthur Letics, and 'Chinese Magic' by Foo Ling Yoo

Heroes:

Don't have heroes, but the following have set good examples; John Lennon, Stephen Fry, Stevie Wonder, Wee Jimmy Krankie, Alexei Sayle, Rik Mayall, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Freddie Flintoff, Olive from On The Buses, DLT, Ray Davies, Igor Stravinsky, Stu Francis (ooh, I could crush a grape!!!!) Claude Debussy, Erik Satie, John Craven (PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THAT SOME OF THESE CHOICES OWE SOMETHING TO MY SENSE OF IRONY!

My Blog

The majesty of Debussy

If I were to choose one CD to take with me to a desert island, then Debussy's book of piano preludes - Volumes I and II would be the one. It is music that evokes impressionistic images and moods....

Slim-a-Soup is shite!

Bloody hell! I accidentally bought 'slim-a-soup' instead of 'cup-a-soup.' I'm not surprised it's slimming, it's just soup flavoured water, with about 3 and a half croutons per sachet, and tiny bits of...
