In the vast abyss of a dark open sky, a lone storm cloud sits hauntingly, watching and stalking one filth driven and infested town. On that particular night during the great year of 2002, that lone storm cloud drew forth all of its might and lay to ground the most furious and powerful strike of thunder that has ever plagued time. That lighting somehow spawned a band of 5 unlikely dudes from the sunny shores of the gold coast. And that band was.....
A SECRET DEATH
A band you all know and love, A SECRET DEATH put back what’s been missing in music for years, SOMETHING AWESOME! an original blend that will take you to the edge of chaotic furious brutality, then bring you back via the doomiest place of doom, thus thrusting you into the most mesmerising epic music ever, EVER.
Late 2002 began the onslaught for A SECRET DEATH. Originally starting as a 4 piece, A SECRET DEATH started as 4 small boys, with 4 big dreams. October 2003 saw their debut 4-track demo CD, “…It’s Good Company†(Independent), which completely sold out of press within months of release. With the success of the demo and a reputation for being the tightest act around, with an amazingly powerful live performance, A SECRET DEATH soon gained much attention. Touring of Australia’s east coast numerous times and performing with some fantastic overseas acts ensued.
In February 2005, A SECRET DEATH made their first label release on BUILDING RECORDS/SHOCK DISTRIBUTION in the form of a split EP with Brisbane's FROM THESE WOUNDS. A SECRET DEATH then released the debut EP know as “Fear Is The Driving Force†(BUILDING RECORDS/SHOCK DISTRIBUTION) in May 2005. The EP showcased 6 songs in which the bands song-writing became heavier, yet more dynamic and haunting than previous recorded material. Heavy touring and promotion for both the band’s 2005 releases followed, and saw them pick up the prestigious MUSICOZ award for best Hardcore/Metal act of 2005. They continued to tour nationally and support the releases throughout the next year to follow, picking up countless supports of international and national touring acts such as Norma Jean (USA), Converge (USA), The Dillinger Escape Plan (USA), Atreyu (USA), Every Time I Die (USA), Evergreen Terrace (USA), Unearth (USA), Darkest Hour (USA), Sick Of It All (USA), Boys Night Out (USA), From Autumn To Ashes (USA), Eighteen Visions (USA), Strike Anywhere (USA), Boysetsfire (USA), The Bled (USA), Pilot To Gunner (USA), Off Minor (USA), Envy (Japan), Shai Hulud (USA), Give Up The Ghost (USA), I Killed The Prom Queen (AUS), Parkway Drive (AUS), Mindsnare (AUS), Mark Of Cain (AUS), Toe To Toe (AUS) and more. The band has also played music festivals such as BIG DAY OUT, OVERCRANKED, PREPARE TO BURN (aka CRAFTERFEST) and SOUNDFEST.
Late 2006 through to 2007, A SECRET DEATH began writing what they feel to be quite possibly the greatest album to ever be recorded by 5 mentally challenged individuals. All of 2007 had been spent recording and putting the finishing touches on A SECRET DEATH's greatest work to date, as well as touring nationally with international acts Norma Jean and Every time I die.
In 2008, there will be no need to look out for A SECRET DEATH because they will be all up in your grill with a special re-release of “Fear Is The Driving Force†(including extensive liner notes and bonus tracks) in March/April 2008. Then in May 2008, the massively anticipated full-length album debut will finally see the light of day on their new home at SKULL AND BONES RECORDS/STOMP DISTRIBUTION. Beginning May 2008, A SECRET DEATH will embark on the most extensive tour they have ever done, promoting the ass end out of the new album - which will include a national tour of Australia and plans to head over to America, Japan and New Zealand.
2008 will definitely be a year you'll never forget!!!
