JAMES HALL/PLEASURE CLUB NEWS.
november 2006
hey everyone,
i just wanted to round up the latest news and gossip on the james hall front.
* first of all, if you're not aware then there is a new myspace group for fans of james hall, michael jerome and pleasure club. it can be found at
http://groups.myspace.com/jameshallfans
* a podcast hosted by billy morrison and dave navarro, which features an interview with james can be found at http://www.billymorrison.net/Podcasts/Podcasts.html
look down the page, somewhere near the bottom. it's from the 'camp freddy' radio show. it was taped on the weekend on the viper room shows (september 15th and 16th). it's quite a big download but well worth checking out.
* check out the gallery page on the james hall fansite . i've added some pics from the viper room shows. pics were taken by greg raspet.
*if anyone's curious about who played on the new song, 'consenting adults' on james' myspace page:
james - vox
chris piskun - guitars
bruce butkovich - bass, piano, percussion
michael w. allen - drums, piano
donn aaron - pedal steel
jimmy gnecco and laura macqueen - background vox
*i've added a list of names to the front page of the james hall fansite. just a few people i wanted to thank for helping me out over the past couple of years. if your name isn't on there and it should be (you should know what i'm like for forgetting stuff by now) then let me know. apologies in advance if i've left people off....
*also on the same page i've added a list of james hall related things i'm looking for. if anyone can help out with this stuff then i'd appreciate it so much.
* i just added a page on the fansite with a few james hall movies. check it out here .
it includes the three studio video diaries and a clip of james performing the song 'damaged' from the movie 'the last record store'.
endless gratitude to jeff liles , creator of 'the last record store' for providing this gem.
also...
* there is a new article about james in the tripwire online magazine. it gives thanks and praise to the pleasure club and talks a little about the new james hall album.
check it out here .
oh, and the james hall myspace page has been revamped. check it out.
i think that just about covers the latest.
be sure to join the myspace group, and feel free to join in the discussions, even if it's just to say "hello".
i hope everyone is well.
take care,
pete.
