About Me

Whats going on, my name is Rolando Gutierrez but everyone in the music business knows me as RoRo. Ive been in the music business since I was 16 years old playing the keyboards and accordian, an also a professional songwriter/producer/arranger/programmer and engineer. In 1992 my first band that I joined was a small local group from my hometown of Robstown, Texas, but in 1993 I was tapped to join the power house grupo Xplosivo. There in the group I scored my first hit single with them but then later that year I was offered to start another band with my best friend O'Jay Martinez which was known at grupo Chikko. In 1994, A.B. Quintanilla III gave us a call and asked us if we wanted to go on tour with them as the opening band for Selena, on which was known to be her last tour. Then in 1995 we releast our album under EMI Latin and went on tour all over the U.S. At the same time I started to produced/songwrite/arrange/program and engineer with A.B. on some of his projects that he was working on like Thalia, Christian Castro, Selena, Escalofrio, Victoria Castro, and the 1996 Latin Olympic Album.
Soon after that was done, I was asked to join a brand new group known as Jennifer Pena y Los Jetz in 1996 and stayed with the band, performing and producing music for 4 years with them as we rose to the top of the music charts. After I left the Jetz in 1999 I continued to produced and write music for artist under the Hacienda Records roster and on my spare time would produced/enginer, hiphop and R&B music for local rap artist like SouthCoast and Paul Wall. In late 2000 Chris Perez gave me a call and told me that Joe Ojeda was no longer in the Chris Perez Band and wanted me to take his place in the Grammy Award Winning rock band. So from then on Chris Perez, John Garza and myself spent 2 1/2 years in the recording studio writing matierial for the new record, and in 2002 we released Una Noche Mas under the Univision Music Group lable and went on promotional tour. After C.P.B. broke up, I left the road for a bit and continued to start my production company now known as Rorofied Productions, and under my new lable released 4 albums for Victoria Y Sus Chikos and other local artist from around Texas.
Then in the middle of 2003 I got another call, but this time it was from Jason "DJ Kane" Cano (Lead vocalist of the multi - platinum selling A.B. Quintanilla Y Los Kumbia Kings) and told me that he was leaving the band and going solo. So I decided to give it a shot and from then on DJ Kane, Mariano Harerra and myself were auditioning band members for our new group. In march of 2004 DJ Kane "self titled" album hit the stores and debut at number 8 on the billboard charts, with us making appearances on every single major television show in the latin world and toured all over the U.S. and Mexico. Once we were done with that album, in early 2005 we entered the studio again to record another album which came out as DJ Kane's Capitulo II - Brinca, and this album entered number 28 on the billboard charts, here in the U.S. alone with hits after hit. In 2007 I decided to leave DJ Kane's band after spending 4 1/2 years on the road with the group but currently I am still producing music for other artist from all over the U.S.A. & Mexico borders. Any artist out there that need a full first class production track, then am the man to make it happen. Doesn't matter what type of music it is, I can do it all. Message me with more info.
