My name is MeVeN. I grew up in So-Cal. When I three I started singing. The first song I ever sang was HARD LUCK WOMAN by KISS when I was three. My Dad played the guitar and I sang. It wasn't great...but it was enough to get me started!I grew up...well...OLDER...and I met a guy named Jim Seal who said I needed to move out to Nashville to make it big...SO...I moved to Nashville Tennessee when I was 18 to try and make it in the country music industry. Why country you ask? Well...I like music...All music...well...MOST music...and I was into country at the time!! I go through kicks. I'm in the middle of kicks right now. LOL Okay...So, I move out here, I start working with Jim Seal and Byron Hill and I got a developement deal with BNA records!! man...I was THIS close (I am holding my fingers really close together right now...well...actually I am not, which should be obvious since I am typing this...but you get the point!) to getting a record deal. Well...I didn't. They said I was too young and I could end up a washed up drug addict by 25. Oh well. I moved on. I decided if getting a country deal wasn't as easy as I thought...then I should try other options...So...My OBVIOUS next step...I took up drinking and started doing KAREOKE!! LOL Oh yeah...I was doing anything from Alice in Chains covers to Manilow...Hal Ketchum to KISS...Ahhh...The memories...Well...Somehow that didn't get me a deal either....CRAP...It's hard to get famous these days!!So...About now is when I was introduced to some fellas who would later become my band and family GROOVE ADDICTION. (The band as of today is JJ Benson, Bryan Pyzer, Rick Lay, Robert Wright, and MeVeN and we have changed the band name to the Addiction) We started playing local bars and writing music. We enjoyed it and have kept doing it for 7 years together now. We released two CDs as Groove addiction and one as the Addiction, with no label. We are trying this thing called...PLAYING MUSIC FOR A LIVING!! Ahhh...The dream lives on and so it shall be so!! I will not quit until I am traveling the world and playing music for the masses!!Well...This is really just my Myspace page. I have decided that I would like to have a music version of my Myspace page and here it is. It has some music from my "country" days and also some music from KKB...Or Kryogenic Krack Babies)...which was just me and my buddy Yogi in a room for hours on end writing whatever we wanted just for fun...or in my case at the time...to get a bunch of relationship shit off my chest...Then there is a song that I did as a demo for a band called CLOCKHOUSE. I have always really liked the song. (For clarification I did not write Skin like sky!! I only sang on the track!!) Then...OF COURSE...There is a song from Groove addiction...or the Addiction. The old country one and the strange talking song...I wrote. The country one is actually the first song I ever wrote and then after I moved to Nashville Byron Hill sat with me and we re-worked it! It is one of my favorite country songs I have done. There are a KAZILLION that Byron wrote that I love and...Maybe I'll post some of those...If he'll let me! LOLWell...That's a lot of stuff and that's nowhere near all of it, just all I can think of right now. Any questions...ASK! Any comments...SAY EM!MeVeN
