In 2002 the band Remote Lane was founded. The basic idea of the band emerged from the jam-sessions of the brothers Andreas Bobst (drums) and Fabian Bobst (guitars). The band was completed by Jannick Piller (bass) and Angelo Schafer (vocals, keyboard).
From the beginning, the band has played their own songs, which were first in the field of rock and hard rock. With time their style developed into something more gloomy with hard guitar riffs completing melodious passages.
Remote Lane tried to combine their roots, which they had found in hard rock, with the different styles of metal, thus developping their own characteristic sound. The different influences of each band member and the interest in experimentation of the four, have created a so far non-existent sound. Critics have already assessed it as gloomy progressive metal. So the band name is obvious. Apart from the geographic remoteness of each band members place of residence, the band also tries to take route different from other metal bands, without losing the respect from them.
