Michael Anthony, 27, is an American born pianist and composer currently performing freelance and teaching out of Heidelberg, Germany. His fusion and free jazz project, NuAge Youth, is currently undergoing changes for a future studio recording. All music and production photos of this project will be posted soon. Michael is currently learning the German language and studying Music Philosophy out of Heidelberg in hopes of becoming a professor as well as a performer and bandleader. Michael plays Yamaha MO 8 and Korg Triton Extreme keyboards and Roland synthesizers, as well as acoustic pianos. He has been playing extensively all throughout Europe in many different groups or as a solo act in places such as Germany, Great Britain, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, Russia, Bulgaria and Romania just to name a few. He comes from a semi classical background with an all around semi virtuous knowledge of jazz and improvisation, but mostly it is his astounding knowledge and concepts of all styles of music that sets him apart from many in his field. He studied in Florida and also studied very briefly at Old Dominion Univ. with Prof. John Toomey, with whom he studied improvisation and harmony. He also has absoloute pitch (which he argues can be developed or found where it was once lost). Michael loves his American past time hobbies, which include video games and comic book reading. Of course this is only during free time away from the piano or studio.Stefan Müller, 25, is a drummer and percussionist from Germany currently studying physics at Heidelberg University. He plays a variety of Tama and Yamaha drums. He also plays music frequently with the H.Univ. music dept. and can be found playing frequently around Heidelberg and throughout all of Europe. His skills come from a variety of studies in music and percussion. By the age of 12, Stefan was already transcribing and playing some of his favorite Dave Weckl solos for starters. He also attended many master classes and clinics from the amazing Horacio 'El Negro' Hernandez and the world reknown Dave Weckl. He is virtuous in all styles of jazz and latin music which makes for a perfect combination with Michael Anthony in terms of stylistic freedom. His progressive attitude and playing will someday gain attention as it already has in Heidelberg. Michael And Stefan met playing at the Cave jazzclub in Heidelberg and decided, from listening to eachother, to start an all 'Nu' idea. Stefan is athletic and likes bicycling very much.Neophytos Stephanou, aka Neo, 25, is an electric bass player hailing from Cyprus. He plays his own custom four string bass with a fretless sounding tone that sounds familiar to synth and mini moog action bass sounds which quite arguably is actually his own amazing bass tone. He met with Michael through Stefan, with whom Neo has been friends with and played bass along with for five plus years. Neo, like Stefan, began transcribing at an early age and has no stylistic boundaries just as well. An accomplished soloist and player, Neo is a big fan of latin jazz and music of Brazil. Michael is also a great fan and listener of this genre of music. Neo currently studies at Heidelberg Univ. just as well as his two counterparts. Neo is a great rhythmic technician and also loves rhythmic music. He can found playing exclusively with many salsa bands, such as Despues Le Cuento, in Germany to make due with his love for latin music. Social interaction and good company are two good ways to describe Neo's character.
