“Music is the driving force of my life.â€Having been born deaf, Der Traum spent the first part of his life in silence. Because of this, he gained a unique appreciation for music and sound. Born in León, Mexico, Der Traum has spent his life traveling, learning about music, people and culture. Always traveling, Der Traum quickly learned the importance of communication and the power of music to go beyond barriers and unite even the most bitter rivals. His need to transcend the barriers of communication made him very passionate about learning to play the piano and writing music.“It all started when my eldest sister got a portable keyboard. Much to her dismay, I would not put it down and insisted on playing around with the different sounds.â€Since then, Der Traum has spent much of his time studying with piano instructors, song writers, vocal coaches and sound/recording engineers both privately and in college.
One of the most impacting events in his life and music however, was moving to China. Experiencing such a vast and different culture with so many years of cultural and musical history changed the way he saw communication and music and gave him a deep love for the Chinese country and culture. In 2006 his love of the Chinese culture led him to go on a one month tour of China performing first at the Beijing Midi Festival and ending in Shenzhen. In 2007 it led him to form Global Evolution L.L.C. with business partner Jerry Taylor; a Scottsdale, Arizona based company that focuses on international DJ and event management as well as event promotion aimed specifically at marketing it‘s artists in China.In 2008 Der Traum has dedicated himself to the production of a complete studio album and the changing of the Global Evolution L.L.C. home base from Scottsdale, Arizona to Shenzhen, China.
